Just seen this on the news. Surely they'll have to remove his peerage. Also another woman who says she was abused by Andrew has come forward. it just gets worse. This has blown into a much much bigger scandal with money from Epstein. It's total corruption.

I’ve met Mandelson and he’s an odious piece of shit that made my skin crawl 🤮 Fingers crossed he loses his peerage too. I think it’s all a drop in the ocean and more is to come.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 02/02/2026 20:44

I always thought there was an unsavoury aura around Mandelson, and TBH was astonished when he was appointed Ambassador to the US.

IMO Starmer’s judgement has been woefully lacking.

Or was he just keen to get him out of the way?

He’ll be sat at home not giving a toss, his kind never do. He’s going to face no repercussions for any of it.

He’s caked up, so doesn’t have to worry about never being able to work again. He got 8 million from selling his stake in the advisory firm he started, lives in an 8 million quid house and has property investments. Bang on top of that his payoffs and lifetime EU pension.

He’ll be there quaffing his Chablis laughing at us plebs.

Exactly. He has had a fabulous life, he’s just laughed at the people he was supposed to “serve” and made a mockery of the offices he held. Utterly shameful.

MinnieCauldwell · 02/02/2026 20:53

He's so low and slimy he could get under a snakes arse with a top hat on.

I can't unsee the photo.

It’s a shocker 🤢

elprup · 03/02/2026 08:57

The interview with the Times is hilarious - saying he had no idea what he was doing in his underpants with a woman. “It looks like she came in and showed me something on an iPad”. LOL - yes we can see that for ourselves thank you! Also no recollection of being given $75k - pull the other one, it’s got bells on! 🤣

Edited

I don’t think it’s hilarious. I think it’s quite chilling. He clearly believes he has done nothing wrong and knows he will get away with it.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/02/2026 09:51

Evidently he wasn’t nicknamed ‘The Prince of Darkness’ for nothing.

I always thought there was an unsavoury aura about Mandelson, and was frankly astonished when he was appointed ambassador to the US.

IMO Starmer’s judgement has been sadly lacking.

elprup · 03/02/2026 13:42

The contrite looking photo in the Times isn’t going to wash I don’t think. I know Little Britain is cancelled now but the whole interview really does remind me of that sketch where the MP makes a statement outside his house after getting caught doing summat or other.

Maybe hilarious is the wrong word - gob-smacking maybe better! I also found it unbelievable that he said he might have been naive in his dealings with Epstein. Peter Mandelson is not a person who strikes me as naive or some wide-eyed innocent!

oscilla · 03/02/2026 13:49

It's those who have slipped under the radar that I'd be concerned about. At least we know about those already mentioned.

OhDear111 · 03/02/2026 13:54

I don’t believe a peerage is easy to remove. We shall see.

It’s inconceivable Starmer and co didn’t know about Mandelson to some degree. However they needed a first rate schmoozer for Trump. So that need won out. They were more scared of Trump and that’s understandable. I also think Mandelson should just shut up! Just apologise and not say anything. Investigations will turn up something - or not.

Viviennemary · 03/02/2026 16:41

Just seen he's resigned from the House of Lords. Does that mea he's no longer able to use the title Lord. Not sure.

He can still be called the Prince of Darkness I suppose

Ha - very good!

As a former Life Peer who resigned and was not expelled he can - if he wishes - keep his title - but he can't sit, vote, receive allowances, or attend the House of Lords. Edited to add, for clarity, that it would take an Act of Parliament for him to be officially stripped of his title.

Pedallleur · 03/02/2026 17:07

You know these people eg Michelle Money will keep the title for their credit cards/frequent flier points. And will still be called Lord/Lady at receptions, events etc

CurlyKoalie · 03/02/2026 17:18

Arlanymor · 01/02/2026 22:51

He just keeps resigning and resigning. 1998 over a secret loan (hmm funny how he never remembers money going in/out of his bank account) and again in 2001 over the passport scandal. And then sacked by KS in September. I mean talk about hubris. There have been calls to strip him of his peerage previously and to be fair the SNP were on the war path about it last month.

Why is it that our country's representatives can be involved in all manner of shady dealings, "resign" and then be back in a similar high paid post not long after?
Your ordinary working person can get the sack for far less evidence of " bringing the firm into disrepute" and can often end up unemployable.
Where is the action and integrity from our Senior Leaders, weeding out these individuals as soon as the rumours start and reporting them to the appropriate law enforcement agencies?
I can only think that they all have skeletons that they are scared to be revealed.

MapleSyrupOnToas · 03/02/2026 17:19

The Labour Party should have expelled him long ago. This isn't his first scandal!

It's revolting isn't it? Lord Archer of Weston-super-Mare comes to mind - goes to prison for perjury and perverting the course of justice and still gets to sit in the Lords! The same rules certainly don't apply to us 'plebs' do they? I think what annoys me the most is even if what they have done isn't unlawful, but IS against the parliamentary standards they cling on for dear life until the media have to embarrass them into taking accountability - Sir Peter Viggers and his bloody Duck Island comes to mind. Also... was still a Sir!!! But then I think the whole Honours System is a load of bollocks overwhelmed by croneyism.

Not even his third! It's appalling. Apparently Gordon Brown has written to the Met Commissioner because he's apoplectic about it all. Unsurprisingly.

FrizzyFrizbee · 03/02/2026 17:53

A good article here, https://labourheartlands.com/epstein-files-document-efta00144082-the-email-that-will-haunt-starmers-premiership/

It points out that Starmer appointed the Prince of Darkness, despite warnings and despite what Starmer knew:

"Now, with last week’s Department of Justice release of 3+ million pages from the Epstein files, we know the full timeline. We know what Starmer knew. We know when he knew it. And we know he chose inaction until political survival demanded otherwise."

"Starmer now calls for Mandelson to lose his House of Lords peerage. But he made the appointment knowing the risks. He maintained it after security warnings. He defended it after a victim’s direct plea. He only reversed course when politically forced to do so.
The question is not whether Starmer knew the specific details of every leaked document. The question is why he appointed someone whose Epstein connections were documented and public, why he ignored security service concerns, why he dismissed a victim’s direct warning, and why he only acted when exposure made inaction impossible."

Starmer needs to go too, and asap.

Mandelson revelations raise further questions about Starmer's judgement

Historical revelations about Lord Mandelson would have been unlikely to have risked political damage to the prime minister directly.

Starmer did know. Do have a look at the article I posted - the’Email that will haunt Keir’s premiership “. I found it eye opening.

CurlyKoalie · 03/02/2026 18:04

All this points to Kier Starmer as a very poor judge of character. What a waste of space he is as Prime Minister.
The only personality with any integrity at Number 10 would appear to be Larry The Cat!

plentyofsunshine · 03/02/2026 18:07

I hope he goes to prison for Treason.

No wonder Epstein was so rich - everyone was giving him insider information! And for what? Oh some kinky sex. Yeah, sell out your country just for some sex.
