I really hope the Beckhams don't dignify this crap with a response.

While the first dance certainly sounds odd I have seen similar on sm. To call it inappropriate and that he felt humiliated are actually quite weird comments to make. Just say she stole their thunder or something he makes out she gave him a lapdance

I've every sympathy for anyone nc with family. Social media is just not the place to air it all though.

Araminta1003 · 20/01/2026 09:30

I wonder if he has a legal right to the Beckenham brand potentially in the future and whether all celebrity children will have that were wheeled out on stage with their images, before they were old enough to consent. And of course his name is his entirely! How ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

VanessaSanessa · 20/01/2026 09:30

I feel sorry for him. He was pushed into the media since he was born, he didn't consent to that. As an adult now, he probably has lots of identify issues.

I am not a fan of weddings and the whole look at me part but f**k me, if Victoria monopolised the first dance, that's a whole level of disfunction.

It's no harm that the whole Beckham brand is pulled apart. Victoria is walking around with an eating disorder and tries to pass it off as normal. That poor daughter is in big trouble already with how she's been used to promote the brand.

Good for Brooklyn.

It really surprises me the comparisons people draw between the Sussexes and BB. There are 2 English husbands and 2 American wives who have some sort of fallout with their respective families and thats' where the similarities end.

I rather see Meghan en par with Victoria. They are cut from the exact same cloth. Nouveau riche and fame hungry. Meanwhile, Nicole is an actual heiress, rich beyond imagination, she doesn't need to hustle or pimp out her family like any common or garden SM influencer. She has an excellent relationship with her parents and is a great catch for BB, he married up, Harry married down socially. Yes, Meghan and Victoria are very similar.

I think you’re right. V&M are much more alike in their need for fame. The strange thing is Victoria has already arrived at where Meghan wants to be, yet it’s still not enough for V.

Araminta1003 · 20/01/2026 09:34

I do not feel sorry for Brooklyn Beckham. I think his statement is powerful and I think he has found himself and looks much happier. I think his statement represents the kind of typical Gen Z emotional honesty. Good on him.

If I were his mother I would feel proud and happy for him.

SparklyGlitterballs · 20/01/2026 09:35

It's hard to know the truth as I'm sure both sides are prone to embellishment.

One thing that does make me wonder - Brooklyn and Nicola got married in 2022. If they were that upset about the way his parents behaved in the lead up to and at their wedding, why did he continue to post so much gushing "I love you so much" stuff to his family on his socials in 2023 and 2024?

SingedSoul · 20/01/2026 09:35

I have vast sympathy for the billionaire Beckham. I've not slept a wink. I though my friend had it bad being brought up in care, abused and raised in poverty. Then I read about Brooklyn's mum embarrassing him at the wedding, disliking his wife and raising him in a whirlwind of publicity, that contributed to his vast wealth, connections and meant Nicola knew him from Adam. Total bastard parents indeed.

Obviously he has since turned his back on all social media, because it was all so awful and he would never want his wife or future kids to be subjected to such fame and exposure.

Well done for being so brave, your parents definitely deserve this humiliation and well done for waiting until you married into exorbitant wealth before ditching them. Really stoic considering all that you have been through 🤑😭🤑

honeylulu · 20/01/2026 09:35

While the first dance certainly sounds odd

I thought the choice of words was odd too - she danced inappropriately ON me - not WITH me. Made it sound like he laid on the floor while she stamped all over him, flamenco style or something.

peacefulpeach · 20/01/2026 09:36

Perhaps Brooklyn and Haz can get together and lick each others wounds when their wives dump them. A nice little bungalow in the country.

YourAmplePlumPoster · 20/01/2026 09:37

That bit about Mum stealing the first dance made me cringe. She always looks as if she's wearing her nightie anyway.

The daughter of the known hard as nails American billionaire will have a prenup so tight the English sop won’t get a penny when they split. Then where will his income come from? Make friends with mummy and daddy again? Awful. Predictable.

ThatNattyPlayer · 20/01/2026 09:41

no doubt there will be multiple stories after pulling apart his post.
nobody knows the real truth no matter who’s mouth it comes from
neither family come across as decent human beings.

She was never known for dancing ability

At least she did not sing

Cos it’s a work of fiction. This all stems from the wedding singer calling posh on stage and telling everyone she’s the most beautiful woman in the room. As evidenced by many reports from the wedding. I highly doubt his mother launched herself on him in a sexual way. As. If.. What a little lying prick.

Emilyinspace · 20/01/2026 09:42

Can anyone think of another family who have monetised being a family for so long?

Royal Family don’t count, they are heads of state so as dysfunctional as they are, it’s different.

I honestly can’t and I am wracking my brain. Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsey to an extent but not at the same level.

The Beckhams could have done all the photo shoots , events etc as a couple and without their children. They don’t have to pose with them. They have may have done so unthinking or strategically, who knows, but it’s an awful way to bring up children.

The only thing I didn’t like was the comment about his mother dancing ‘on me’.

That kind of makes it sound like Victoria was either pissed or inappropriate and it’s cruel to put either of those things out there.

Charlize43 · 19/01/2026 23:51

It is a shame it won't be a good opportunity for everyone in the media to discuss the damage that celebrity parents do to their children by treating them as accessories of themselves and parading them like show ponies for the media.

Then they could turn the lens on the Influencer culture and all those z listers who have monetised their babies/kids and are using them online for likes & for cash.

We could have like a MeToo moment but for abused kids of celebrities and z listers and get it out in the open.

Lastly, maybe some laws could be passed to protect the privacy of children online until they are old enough to give consent.

Katie Price, Lauryn Goodman are terrible examples. I'm sure there are many more.

UnhappyHobbit · 20/01/2026 09:42

Maddy70 · 20/01/2026 00:26

I wasn't bring unkind , I meant no-one knows what's gone on. I thought he had said previously that they were going to have a VB dress but the dressmaker wouldn't be able to deliver on time so they went with an alternative. Who is to say that she didn't ditch VB or kept changing her mind on What she wanted etc

There are always two sides

There are always two sides. But the examples of “what could have happened” are entirely fictional in your head.

GameOfJones · 20/01/2026 09:44

The truth will lie somewhere in the middle but there's a lot of pain in his statement. If even 50% of it is accurate it's awful.

His parents have sold him and his siblings to the media since the day he was born. What bloody chance did he have, growing up like that with a life in the spotlight. Imagine everyone knowing that your name is the place you were conceived.

The children have been used as a sticking plaster over the cracks in David and Victoria's sham marriage their entire lives. Hopefully this starts a conversation about the emotional damage using your child as content can do.

xSideshowAuntSallyXx · 20/01/2026 08:56

I wish people would stop using what the Queen said when talking about the Beckhams. It's completely different circumstances. No matter how hard they try the Beckham's aren't and never will be royalty. Also I'm sure if anything Brooklyn has said isn't true David and Victoria will set the records straight or sue.

I can say what I want. The Queen didn’t own the phrase.

Alltheunreadbooks · 20/01/2026 09:45

I was looking for a thread where the Peltz-Beckhams were compared to the Sussex'es.

Most have been ' ah poor Brooklynn and his lovely wife' where in an almost identical situation, Mumsnet hive mind wants Harry and Meghan strung up.

Weird old place this sometimes

berlinbaby2025 · 20/01/2026 09:46

your parents definitely deserve this humiliation

They absolutely do. Karma is such a great thing.

zanahoria · 20/01/2026 09:48

I would take Brooklyn Beltz Peckham's expose of Brand Beckham fakery more seriously if he fessed up to his own fakery of trying to be a photographer and a chef and then just disappeared from social media

Going NC usually only comes after a very long process of reflection. It may just have taken him a long time to figure out how dysfunctional his upbringing really was.

ohdelay · 20/01/2026 09:50

I feel strangely proud of him for releasing this and going nuclear. They ignored the legal letter and kept on with the stories in the press. They are weird, he's the original influencer kid and he's obviously parentified. He was getting mum tattoos in his teens and is as weirdly scribbled on as David. He's been abused all his life because they wouldn't keep him safe from the press and the public.

I don't follow the Beckhams but know what he looked like at every stage of his life because he has never been out of the papers even during the awkward teen years. This was never normal. He has never had positive attention from the press or public and has always been judged lacking even as a very young child when everyone was going on about how unattractive and potato like he looked compared to his glam parents. As he grew older he's been picked on for his looks and perceived stupidity; Dorklyn, Thicklyn. Now he is ungrateful, controlled, useless. He's well out of it.

diddl · 20/01/2026 09:50

The rumours at the time were that Nicola had “snubbed” VB by turning down the offer of a dress.

But why is that even a snub?

An offer can be refused & I can't think that VB would have wanted to do it quietly & for love of her DIL!
