Interesting- I had just assumed it was profitable for big tech.
However, this must be some form of illegal - and if it isn’t through some loophole, then government should be racing to make it so, as well as governments in any receiving country.
Paying for sex whether real or visual or anything has always been the case and potentially profitable - but also rules/clamp downs/laws and enforcement have ran alongside - where are they now?
And whilst a subscription model I do wonder whether those who access the worst of it, or those who ‘just’ create celebs in bikinis, or even acquaintances in the same - then bring that out of that platform for general show/distribution?
Another out of control invention, unfortunately developed in out of control US.

The utterly shameless & widely covered "report" out today, claiming net zero will "cost" £9tn is based on:

  • Assuming free fossil-fuel energy, free petrol cars, free gas boilers, free gas power plants etc

AND

  • Including climate damages in the "cost" of net zero

I kid you not, it is that stupid

Must be fake news

Ten year gilt yields are at their lowest for about a year.

No wonder Farage is keen for an early GE. Reform's lowest polling since April '24

I know X is full of bots etc., but Zahawi's recruitment to the cause seems to have gone down like a sack of 💩 amongst Reformites.

Reform needs to remember that a lot of their support come from people who feel betrayed by the Tories. The more Tories - and the higher their profile - the harder it is to avoid the absent accusation in the MSM that Reform are really just the Tories Mk II.

Hopefully the establishment of MN as the forum of Reform will prompt a coachload more sitting Tory MPs to defect to Reform, thus weighing it down even more.

The analogy of a lifeboat being sunk by the rats from the big ship might be something an AI bot could work with. I'll leave that as an exercise for the group before the next session.

Notonthestairs · 13/01/2026 14:01

I assumed Zahawi wasnt recruited to appeal to current Reformites.

It's intended to appeal to current Tories. 'See, we arent really that racist and we dont agree with paying tax.'

Moderate Tories are still never going to switch to Reform though. And the few remaining racist Tories will be glad to see the back of Zahawi. They will regard it as making their task that tiny bit easier.

The fundamental issue is no matter how you slice, dice and recombine, 25% is still 25%. It's a clear illustration of that old trick question which is thicker: a hundred Reform voters or a hundred Tory voters.

Not sure this link will work...

The quiet Mumsnet revolution that could help Reform into power 🙄

That article actually made me laugh, the stereotypical MN Reform voter personified.

I recognise it from the many Reform threads

On the same page on the sidebar there is an article asking why so many young women have been brainwashed by the left.

So, I get it:

Middle class, middle aged women going to Reform - perfectly acceptable. We're all doing it.
Middle class, young women with liberal /left wing views - brainwashed.

Wrt Iran, if there is regime change, I'm wondering what will fill the vacuum? In the short term, and the longer term.

Well there are a bunch of US oil execs that have just become available after politely declining Venezuela.

Notonthestairs · 13/01/2026 17:20

Omid Djalili was interviewed on the Newsagents last week said that the hope was Pahlavi would lead a temporary government of national unity until free elections. I'd love to believe that this is possible. But I assume multiple powers will make their moves to disrupt.
