Mums! How are we levelling up and getting our pink back in 2026!

I have had 2 young children and I am 29, in 2026 I am returning back to my job I worked hard for part time, and I want to optimise my health.
I want to sort out my gut/ maintain my weight loss/ invest more time into self care and not feel guilty to have things done one off for just me (beauty appts etc).

How are you going to try and get your pink back this year? Xx

What’s my pink?

sprigatito · 05/01/2026 20:50

I don’t think I have a pink

Haha getting your pink back basically means getting your spark back after the trenches of early motherhood- taking time for yourself again and existing as a woman alongside as a mum

Um....is this a trick question...or a clique question??

TellMeDinosaurFacts · 05/01/2026 20:51

I prefer navy blues and bottle greens on the whole.

NoodlesMcGee · 05/01/2026 20:53

I am now concerned that I have been devoid of pink all this time…

Onceuponasunflower · 05/01/2026 20:55

Does it stand for something? Puking In New Kitchen?

ThatMintMember · 05/01/2026 21:00

Lol, I understand what you mean OP!

To get my pink back I'm having a selfish month. December was so stressful with Christmas and constant social plans so I'm making a real effort to just enjoy the little things and look after myself more. I'm talking sunday bubble baths with Lush bath bombs while my husband keeps our son entertained, burning wax melts in the evenings, watching some good tv, reading books on my kindle, early nights, getting my hair done, meeting up with my sister child free for the first time in years! I normally hate winter but I'm going to try and just enjoy it this year :)

SixDozen · 05/01/2026 21:01

I've bought myself some new clothes which don't have to accommodate breastfeeding because I'm done with daytime feeds!

Flamingos lose their pink feathers after giving birth, and slowly get them back. That’s how I understood the reference anyway!

OP, I’m trying to stick to a simple skincare routine, actually get ready for the day with hair and a bit of make up and find time to exercise a little!

Who made this up?

It's a bit embarrassing.

I get the idea behind it though and it's a good one.

It’s not made up, it comes from flamingos losing their pink feathers after having their chicks.

OP, I’m trying to fit in some home workouts and eat better. My baby is 5 months now and I feel like I can do a bit more than before while she sleeps or plays on her play mat during the day so I’m determined to make the most of the time rather than sitting on my phone!

Kpo58 · 05/01/2026 21:24

Huh? Has someone been drinking already? 🤔

Maybe we should just start eating a load of prawns?

I know where it comes from lol

But since when has it been applied to women?

Thankfully never, before now.

TheMateofOphelia · 05/01/2026 22:37

Despite only hearing this phrase for the first time yesterday on Instagram...I'm confident I have sufficient pink to see me through 2026.

Glitterbiscuits · 05/01/2026 22:44

Im ginger. I have to avoid pink.

PowerTulle · 05/01/2026 23:11

Is this another way of branding women’s experiences so we can have things marketed to us?

Sweetiedarling7 · 05/01/2026 23:14

Are we supposed to be pink? Why?
Possibly the silliest thing I have heard this year …

PowerTulle · 05/01/2026 23:23

Flamingos turn into the colour of whatever they’re eating. I’d probably be a sunny cheddar yellow after my diet this week.

BobbyBrewstersMagicTorch · 05/01/2026 23:33

By not using the phrases "levelling up" and "getting my pink back". Or putting kisses on my posts

SixDozen · 06/01/2026 07:03

Will people ever realise that they could just not read or not respond to posts? There's absolutely no need to be awful.

TheLittleGreenFairy · 06/01/2026 07:36

I'm focusing on my health this year. Less wine and chocolate and more exercise needed.

Princesspollyyy · 06/01/2026 07:58

Sorry ‘getting my pink back’ sounds cringey and ridiculous. And doesn’t make me think of flamingoes even if that is where it has come from. It sounds a bit rude?

13RidgmontRoad · 06/01/2026 08:02

I am getting faint hints of journalist.
