currently living from your childhood home?

98 miles for me, and have to drive through three different counties.
(On our way there now!)

900 miles by air.
Thanks goodness.

BoarBrush · 03/01/2026 15:10

Just 75 miles but it takes a good 2 1/2 to 3 hour to drive due to wee country roads each end and the bloody hell that is the Edinburgh bypass.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 03/01/2026 15:11

About 400 miles.

Changename12 · 03/01/2026 15:13

I had 9 childhood homes all over the country. It wasn’t great for schooling.
My children one had one.

Oioiqueen · 03/01/2026 15:14

About 20 miles from the suburbs of a city to a village.

Furthest was 100 miles but moved back when both mine and DH's jobs turned to permanent WFH contracts and wanted the kids closer to family. However have lived in various parts of the country since becoming an adult.

Yourinmyspot · 03/01/2026 15:15

About 55 miles, the closest I’ve lived since I left home. The furthest we lived was 400 miles away.

MaidOfSteel · 03/01/2026 15:16

About 180 miles.

itsgettingweird · 03/01/2026 15:18

I moved when I was 11. About 12 miles from my first childhood home and 3 miles from the second. (Which actually is about 200m from where I lived the first 6 months of my life!)

itsgettingweird · 03/01/2026 15:18

Ives lived between 500-3000 miles away inbetween 🤣

Rowgtfc72 · 03/01/2026 15:19

Sitting in mine right now!
Moved in after my dad died. Dd sleeps in my old bedroom.
Our old house didn't have off road parking or a garage for dh so was a bit of a no brainer.

UnderThePressure · 03/01/2026 15:20

I'm a 7 minute walk from my childhood home and we live 2 doors away from my DH's childhood home, where the ILs still live.

Piknik · 03/01/2026 15:21

0 miles.

in my childhood home again following death of parents.

It’s lovely but i won’t stay here forever.

Whizzingwhippet · 03/01/2026 15:21

About 280 miles. And 300 (in the other direction) from my parents.

EllaPaella · 03/01/2026 15:23

280 miles. Pretty much moved away after uni and never went back. Family and friends still live there though so I visit 3 or 4 times a year.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 03/01/2026 15:24

Around 150 miles. I used to live around 11,000 miles away so it doesn't feel like a long way. I never go back there now, though, as my parents moved to be closer to us when dd was small.

EmeraldDreams73 · 03/01/2026 15:25

About 100 miles.

Aweekoffwork · 03/01/2026 15:26

Every time I moved house as a child it was always half a mile north bizarrely - moved three times. As an adult it has been exactly the same but now we’re on the edge of town next to woodland and half a mile north would be in a field somewhere 😄

OttersMayHaveShifted · 03/01/2026 15:28

243 miles. Moved from SE England to NW England 11 years ago.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 03/01/2026 15:30

According to Google maps, 1.1 mile by car!

Cazzovuoi · 03/01/2026 15:31

7km but I have lived up to 2500km away.

Chipsahoy · 03/01/2026 15:33

Not far enough and it’s a ten hour drive in a good day. Different country.

JustChillin70 · 03/01/2026 15:36

Between 700 metres and 900 metres depending on whether you walk or drive

FunnyCradock · 03/01/2026 15:37

I live 11,650 miles (or 19,000km) from the house I grew up in (until the age of 10)

IHeartJeff · 03/01/2026 15:37

5,600 miles!

ChrisMartinsKisskam · 03/01/2026 15:50

3 miles from my son
same for most of my family
