currently living from your childhood home?

98 miles for me, and have to drive through three different counties.
(On our way there now!)

About 3 miles.

devildeepbluesea · 03/01/2026 13:30

About 40 yards!! I have lived in several places in the UK and somehow found myself back on the same estate in a mirror image of the house I grew up in. It’s kinda comforting, but I’m known for my itchy feet so this may not be where I end up.

Lavenderandbrown · 03/01/2026 13:32

2.3 miles. Not what I had planned for my adult life but actually moved back to my hometown for ex DH job. Got divorced and here we stayed for 27 yrs
it’s worked out very well…I have good bit of family here it’s affordable we have great holidays and I see lots of school
mates when in town

evtheria · 03/01/2026 13:33

2 long haul flights and maybe one short flight, depending on airline/uk airport used.
Might as well double that distance because now there’s barely anyone I grew up with there, and things have changed so much.

grinchmcgrinchface · 03/01/2026 13:34

750 miles from my first childhood home, 350 miles from my second childhood home.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 03/01/2026 13:34

About a mile, but I spent 18 years far away, including 10 years on the other side of the world.

lilylooleelala · 03/01/2026 13:34

695 miles away. I have to drive through 3 different countries 🤣

WinterNightStars · 03/01/2026 13:35

120 miles

Alcoholrecovery · 03/01/2026 13:35

1.6km just checked!

DarkEyedSailor · 03/01/2026 13:36

20 miles, roughly. The rest of my family are hundreds of miles away from it. I moved away and then came back to where I am now.

Meadowfinch · 03/01/2026 13:37

About 20 miles.

TheDogsMother · 03/01/2026 13:38

360 from my first, not in the UK. 460 from my second, in the UK.

IceStationZebra · 03/01/2026 13:38

150 miles. It’s possible to do a round trip in a day, but a long weekend is better.

TwooooDoooozenRoses · 03/01/2026 13:39

16 miles which is 25 minutes or so.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 03/01/2026 13:40

I lived all over the country as a child, but I'm currently living 90 miles from my first childhood home.

Loveduppenguin · 03/01/2026 13:40

The question I would have to ask is “which childhood home?” I lived in 7 houses from birth to 16 🤣

101Alsatians · 03/01/2026 13:40

2,600+ miles

wizzler · 03/01/2026 13:40

2 miles

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 03/01/2026 13:42

About 80 miles - I crossed the Pennines from Yorkshire to Merseyside. It still feels like a foreign country sometimes… 😀

Blackcountryexile · 03/01/2026 13:43

100 miles

Plinketyplonks · 03/01/2026 13:43

4,501 miles by road

LetThemFume · 03/01/2026 13:45

About three miles now, after nearly 30 years of being several hundred and at times several thousand miles away.

Thecomfortador · 03/01/2026 13:45

220 miles. Considering moving back if we can, although there's not much there. The pull of home I suppose (and cheaper houses / aging parents).

Funnys · 03/01/2026 13:46

300 miles, but you need a ferry or plane to get there

TheChosenTwo · 03/01/2026 13:46

About 30 miles, was born in London and lived there until I was about 4 and moved to the Home Counties - I’m about 4 miles away from the home I remember growing up in, 30 from the one I spent my first few years.
