Hi, I’m looking for some inspiration! Sandwich filling ideas that don’t contain any processed meat. I usually like ham and cheese but don’t want to eat ham or pepperoni etc. not a huge fan of a chicken sandwich.

Any ideas? TIA and so sorry for such a mundane post but I need inspiration!

Omelette with PB sounds illegal @blenny23

I know, I know…. It’s based on a friend’s favourite sandwich, which is peanut butter on toast with a fried egg and ketchup on top…. I thought it’d be disgusting but it’s actually so good. 😂

@JoyeuxNarwhal thanks for the suggestion, I’ve never really tried cottage cheese. Something I might do. I’m looking for something filling as well really. Do you have anything else with the cottage cheese or just kale?

Sometimes just the kale. Sometimes I push the boat out and buy the one with chives! Sometimes sliced mushrooms or a spread of peanut butter or a few walnuts. Often a shake of Engevita yeast flakes. My tip would be put the kale on first then dollop cottage cheese on top before you roll it otherwise the wrap goes soggy by lunchtime and falls apart.

Loads of these other suggestions sound so much better though. Mine is a little joyless but it's v quick to do on a morning!

Chat to your local butcher - mine does sausages that are just meat, minced with herbs. Or chilli, or something else eg pork and apple with cider, pork and apricot, or lamb and mint. I do also like their venison, contains only venison.

Buy a gammon joint, glaze how you like, and roast to make your own ham.

Chicken breasts in the oven or air fryer.

Nitrate free bacon in the oven or air fryer, to make a BLT

Egg mayo and cress or salad
