Stilton!

IAmKerplunk · 02/01/2026 14:16

I have a block of Stilton. I love love cheese but am now feeling crackers and Stilton is getting, dare I say it, boring having eaten so much of it over Christmas.
What can I do with it? Only me in the house that likes it so recipe for 1. Have thought about soup but thought I would ask on here for any inspiration.

Steak and stilton.
Burgers and stilton.
Stilton salad.

I would freeze some because it's so usable from frozen in loads of recipes.

Bollocks! We had burgers last night. Why didn’t I think of it then! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Buy those huge Field mushrooms. Remove stalk lay on a baking sheet like little bowls pour in melted garlic butter, top with stilton and roast. Blooming lovely

Never mind my suggestion. This one wins!

Stilton cauliflower cheese is the best

Love cauliflower cheese. Never added Stilton to it. That would be proper comfort food. Especially with steak! 😍

Gutted now that for all these years I have been wasting it on crackers 😱

Stilton potato wedges sounds delicious.

My husband has been making crostini with all the leftovers. Today’s offerings were pear, Parma ham and burrata, Stilton with fig relish and honey, Brie with ham and cranberry. 😋

I add little cubes into sausage rolls. I use this recipe normally 😋www.recipetineats.com/special-pork-fennel-sausage-rolls/

You might get lucky. Loads of left over Stilton in the shops post Christmas. Look for yellow label Stilton. Freeze.

If you can do it with cheddar, you probably can do it with stilton...

That's what I do with too much Stilton. I know the recipe says Roquefort but I've only every used Stilton for it.

Stilton makes a nice salad dressing just mix into sour cream and chives and a bit of milk

AyeKarumba · 02/01/2026 15:02

Crumble atop some baked portabella mushrooms

justasking111 · 02/01/2026 15:11

Now I can't eat stilton as it comes, tastes vile to me, but in cooking it's sublime

GRCP · 02/01/2026 15:13

I always use mine up in a broccoli and Stilton soup - delicious!!
Veg stock, boil the broccoli until soft, add some spinach for extra nutrients and then crumble in Stilton to melt, then blitz. My favourite!!

HerVagestyTheQueef · 02/01/2026 15:22

Nothing too exciting to add as my usual Stilton faves have already been suggested, but I’m making homemade pizzas tonight and I like to put some Stilton and walnut on mine! Delicious.

I had the same problem a few days ago and did cheese scones. They were absolutely divine, much better than with cheddar.
