IAmKerplunk · 02/01/2026 14:16

I have a block of Stilton. I love love cheese but am now feeling crackers and Stilton is getting, dare I say it, boring having eaten so much of it over Christmas.
What can I do with it? Only me in the house that likes it so recipe for 1. Have thought about soup but thought I would ask on here for any inspiration.

I was going to suggest soup 😆

Slice/chop it and freeze it. So you can use it for recipes later in the year.

Crustless quiche with Stilton as the cheese. No pastry to make.

Pasta dishes of various kinds.

I like it with a pear and walnut salad.

ChrimboLimbo · 02/01/2026 14:18

Add it to anything. Pizza, jacket potato, stuff it into chicken, butternut squash. It is the king of cheese .

BeardedBarley · 02/01/2026 14:19

Broccoli and Stilton soup.

Or, if not much, stir into mashed potatoes.

SwayzeM · 02/01/2026 14:20

Chicken with mushroom and Stilton sauce. I also love broccoli and Stilton soup.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/01/2026 14:20

Freeze it

Pancakeflipper · 02/01/2026 14:21

Bring it to my house. I can't have Stilton in my house as I eat it quickly and greedily. I have no self-control and become undignified.

Or you could make soup or a Stilton dip.

Leave it on your front door step and I'll sniff it out in no time 😇

I like your thinking. Potato skins with Stilton. That is the winner so far

Stilton dumplings in beef stew are amazing. Just crumble some into the dumpling mix.

The Italian restaurant Ask used to make a blue cheese chicken and spinach pasta, which was nice.

Cook pasta (penne rigatoni) until al dente, drain but keep 1 cup of water add a chicken stock cube to it and dissolve, set aside.
1 chicken breast per person, cut, season and fry off in a pan, add a little butter and grated garlic on a low- medium heat until fragrant then add the cup of stock water de-glaze the pan add 200ml cream, some parmesan or pecorino, stir until sauce is reduced, add the crumbled stilton and spinach until wilted, pasta and mix Viola!

Steak and stilton.
Burgers and stilton.
Stilton salad.

I would freeze some because it's so usable from frozen in loads of recipes.

Blueuggboots · 02/01/2026 14:34

Spinach leaves, toasted sunflower seeds, crispy bacon, crumbled Stilton and a whole grain mustard vinegrette.

Whatisthisarghhh · 02/01/2026 14:37

Caramelise some red onions and add them to a sheet of puff pastry. Put chunks of crumbled Stilton on top. Serve with salad. Delicious meal!!

liveforsummer · 02/01/2026 14:37

Soup or a sauce for steak 😋

lifeisgoodrightnow · 02/01/2026 14:38

Stilton cauliflower cheese is the best
