I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

You must be very young if you are doing shit like this. It’s your planet you are ruining, yours and your children’s. We really have to stop polluting with useless crap.

Most young people are much more savvy about the environment than older people.

GameOfJones · 04/01/2026 16:48

I'm not the poster that mentioned it but I do 16:8 intermittent fasting and use the "Easy Fast" app which is free and had always worked perfectly for what I need.

SulkySeagull · 04/01/2026 17:03

@Clarabell77 they get a lot of heat for being quite pricey and upping the cost frequently, I know some of the clubs are in a bad state and people don’t like paying so much for them. However my club is one of the better ones and I have gotten good use from it! It has an outdoor pool with sunbeds which is a blessing in the summer holidays

ElectricLegs · 04/01/2026 19:26

A pair of William Whiteley scissors. It has made me realise how rubbish all of the rest of my scissors are.

The problem is that decent cutting tools can get addictive so I have since bought threadsnips for sewing and another pair of scissors.

Wow that sounds wonderful! I have thought about joining for a while . This has given me a push!

Hope you enjoy it @Raisondeetre . I’ve just finished my first year and loved singing in the carol concerts! It’s all quite confusing to start with but lots of friendly people to help.

I'm a huge period pants fan but funnily enough struggle to dry them in the winter! May I ask which Meaco dehumidifier you have please?

The meaco two arête 10litre. Dries them overnight X not cheap but very good.

Which app is this exactly please? Is it on the App Store or just for Android? I can’t see an obvious match with the same name, there are so many to choose from, and I’d love to know more! Thanks

Hi @Somewhereoverthesea, just checked, it’s the Simple: AI weight loss coach app, I’ve got it on iPhone.

Justbreathagain · 04/01/2026 21:35

Oh and other one is a warmie. It's a teddy that warms in the microwave and smells of lavender. Love it 😍

Technically not my purchase as was my Christmas gift from DH, but mine would be my Tymo Curl Pro plus.

I’ve always wanted to have the option of curling my hair for the odd special occasion or night out but my fine hair usually refuses to hold a curl for more than 10 minutes, regardless of how much mousse and hairspray I douse it in, plus I have a complete lack of skill at hair styling. I’ve bought loads of other hair tools over the years. All were supposed to give amazing results but for me turned out to be total (and rather expensive) failures - think Dyson airwrap, GHD straighteners for curling, Drybar hot brush etc.

As I was struggling for any other ideas to give my DH for my Christmas present and having seen so many ads and sponsored reviews for it across various social media platforms, I decided to take the plunge and it’s honestly amazing! So easy to use, takes me no time at all to curl my whole head and with just a bit of mousse for volume and some strong hairspray, my hair is left shiny and healthy looking and the curls lasted me all night on NYE, even with me gently breaking them up with my fingers once they’d cooled to make them less ringletty (sorry, I know that’s not a word).

I’d recommend it to anyone who has problems with hair curling and wants an easy to use device that actually works. Just be aware the device comes with an EU plug (or at least mine did!) so you’ll need to buy a cheap EU to UK adapter plug before you can use it.

Please tell me what products you used! I used my Tymo curl pro plus or whatever it’s called, today. I found it really hard to do the back (I do have thick hair) and the curls dropped so quickly!

Hairspray with my hair only GOT2BE yellow can works on my hair and holds.

Roberts dab retro radio. Sounds amazing for such a little thing and looks cute too. My most useful purchase this year which has kept me sane. And a giant cat tree to replace the old one, the cat loves it and snoozes away the hours on the top.

Where did you get your cat tree from please? I'm looking for one for my cat but we have a Victorian house with 12 foot ceilings!!

You’re the first person I’ve come across who has a good word to say about Wegovy!

You’re the first person I’ve come across who has a good word to say about Wegovy!

I was on Wegovy when it first came out and lost 2.5stone. I then stopped and gained 1stone (my own fault - I completely slipped back into old habits) and then mounjaro came out. I ordered that and it did absolutely nothing, I was on it for three months and lost zero pounds. So went back to Wegovy and yes I loose weight very slowly (like 0.5lb a week slow) but it is coming off (I’ve also never gone above 1mg) Also going to the gym now and making more lifestyle changes. Still, best decision plus Wegovy is now significantly cheaper so I’m glad I went back to it and stuck with it

I got it from here . There's a caveat though. While it wasn't expensive and it works brilliantly, it does have a chemical smell when in use that makes me worry about what I'm breathing in.

So I'm fantasising about considering two alternatives: the Therasage one here (more £££) or this really nifty-looking DIY option here, which would work out about the same price as the one I have now.

Good to know.
I lost 2 stone in Mounjaro last summer but had to stop as the nausea and constipation were too much. And it doubled in price.
Thinking about starting Wegovy now for that last little bit of weight!

I bought a big fancy indoor grill.

I’ll have to go without eating to afford the steaks & fancy cuts of meat to go on it.

Seems oddly self defeating. 😭

🤣 Fry eggs on it!
