What's been your best purchase of the year?

I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

Go on then, what’s your problem with me getting private surgery for my 1 year old because the NHS totally failed her?

I know, I wondered that - who on earth could have a problem with someone paying for private care for their baby?? Weird.

Dollybantree · 01/01/2026 22:01

Thanks Grizelina il have a look at that.

Fireside10 · 01/01/2026 22:03

My snoozeband, my husbands snoring - what husband? My heated blanket, just lovely.

Rewis · 01/01/2026 22:05

@Advocodo can second the Panasonic bread makers in general. Ours is still growing strong after c15 years! Bought one for DD as well and hers is used at least once a day. If one of them failed wouldn’t hesitate to purchase Panasonic again.

Thanks! Much appreciated.

I have health insurance. Just took two years to get my GP to believe it was my hips. Took my consultant the length of time it took me to hobble on two sticks into his office.

I would have paid though.

Asking on behalf of my left hip.

AHH my left hip being done in March so I'll have a matching pair. 🤩

For whoever was interested in merino wool tights. I got some great ones from Snag recently. Very warm and very soft! I got mine cheap in their BF sale!

With the amount of reactions i got to that post, it seems to just be you who thinks like that.

Get a fucking life.

Wow. This post says much more about you than it does the original poster.

If that’s what you get from a post about someone saying that paying for surgery for their baby was their best purchase of 2026…I have no words.

I thought “aww, how lovely - hope the baby is ok and yes I can understand that being the absolute best thing you could spend money on…your child’s health”.

You need to take a long hard look at yourself, really you do.

justasking111 · 01/01/2026 22:28

Just thought of another one. I've been struggling to carry a mug of tea without slopping everywhere because I've been on crutches and then sticks. My son bought me a YETI rambler mug with a lid. DH calls it my Tommy Tippee cup. It's awesome, the tea stays hot for ages and no spilling.

Thank you ❤️

@Christmasmirraclee There are quite a large number of posts in this thread saying some sort of private medical procedure was their best purchase. Is it because I am near the top of the thread and you couldn’t wait to read the whole thread that you wanted to a be a dick to someone?

That’s lucky you have health insurance, just a shame about the GP! Glad you got it sorted. What a relief and hopefully back to a bit more normality 🤞

Is that attention seeking enough for you?
