I have 2. First is my coffee machine. It grinds the beans, so I can have a freshly brewed coffee each morning. I love it!
Second one is a prize from postcode lottery. It's a rechargeable hot water bottle, and it's been a game changer! Especially useful for when I'm cold watching DS play rugby....

A little basket for my daily cleaning bits. Literally carry it round the house and have everything I need with me so cleaning takes minimum time and effort

Several plane tickets to enable DH to help our DD finish her house renovation so they could move in for Christmas!

couldnt edit original but wanted to add

A covered deck for our French static caravan, which has given us an additional room that we have used every day we have been there!. Even better it was substantially less €s than we were quoted pre-covid!

HazelMember · 01/01/2026 21:26

Wool mattress and heavy curtains for the bedroom.

Ireolu · 01/01/2026 21:28

New Cookware - 2 le crueset pans and a ninja wok. Nothing else is used these days. All wash so easily and cooking is easier as a result. Would buy another le crueset pan if I wasn't on a spending ban.

Shark hairdryer - less money spent at the hairdressers. Massive upgrade from a cheap one I stole from my mum.

Me and em palazzo pants - so comfy. Best trousers ever.

My new right hip

Please will you tell me about your new hip?
Asking on behalf of my left hip.

This thread will cost me a fortune!

For me, finally got my family on a Med cruise of Italy & Greece, which had been cancelled twice for Covid. A mini break to Barcelona, snoozeband and double drawer Ninja airfryer.

But the biggest difference to my life was when I had a genius idea to smash 2 storage cupboards into 1. I transformed it into a utility space that fits my heated airer and a dehumidifier. No more damp clothes everywhere, it works like a dream.

My handmade lopapeysa wool jumper that I bought ion holiday n Iceland. Ridiculously expensive, but my heart flutters every single time I see it. It makes me so happy, and it’s incredibly warm and comfortable.

Yep, another one for mounjaro - life changed forever. Knowing I don’t ever have to be overweight again is mind blowing.

A steamer - ridiculous as I’ve never had one and it only cost £20 - my veg now tastes amazing - we had sprouts that actually tasted like sprouts for the first time ever 😂

A car for dd19 - we now have another person to run errands and give lifts!

Ooh which steamer did you buy please? Currently looking at these for steaming veg and fish at the same time for a family of 4.

WilfredsPies · 01/01/2026 21:38

An Oodie coat. It’s not very thick so I wasn’t expecting much, but it really is one of the warmest, cosiest coats I’ve ever worn. And it’s completely waterproof as well. Not the most stylish of garments, I’ll give you that, but I don’t care because it’s so cosy.

Dumpspirospero · 01/01/2026 21:39

Angle faux fur lined wellies
Several cashmere sweaters from Palome (can you tell I live in the frozen north?)
my Lily Blanche personalised diamond locket with lovely photos of my dad and my dog inside. Both have passed and I feel so close to them when I wear it.

Which bread maker did you buy please?

It's a Panasonic SD-B2510. I bought it in John Lewis for £110 ish. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else. It's so easy and the bread is brilliant. Can't recommend it highly enough.

It’s true - I’m a complete convert and annoyed with myself for putting up with soggy, tasteless veg for years. Tonight we’re having cod, baby potatoes, broccoli and green beans - all done in my little 3 tier £20 steamer 😂

Please can you share which steamer you have please?

Advocodo · 01/01/2026 21:42

Thanks so much.

Blender cup so my shake doesn't go bitty before its finished.
Heated throw blanket

Grizelina · 01/01/2026 21:49

@Advocodo can second the Panasonic bread makers in general. Ours is still growing strong after c15 years! Bought one for DD as well and hers is used at least once a day. If one of them failed wouldn’t hesitate to purchase Panasonic again.

Sorry - I posted a link but I don’t think it worked. It’s from Amazon, a 3 tier Salter one - £20!

RiderGirl · 01/01/2026 21:50

Definitely definitely DEFINITELY this little guy, he has brought so much joy to our lives!

Close second would be our caravan we bought last spring, it was cheap, we gave it a makeover and took it to France in the summer which was awesome.

Heated throw. It’s amazing.

I love my heated throw, it also soothes fibromyalgia pain. My kitten loves it as well 😄

@Dollybantree depending on your budget highly recommend the Magimix stainless steel and glass steamer as it’s super quick and should last for many years. We’ve used ours daily for 7 years and as it’s glass and stainless steel there have been no issues with it. We’ve also had the plastic ones in the past but eventually the steaming plates get brittle and split. However if you’re not sure whether or not you would use it much then a basic plastic one would certainly be fine to start with - we’d had c3 plastic ones before we bought the Magimix one.

MrsKarlUrban · 01/01/2026 21:55

We’ve had lots of lovely family things but one thing I got for myself is erborian bb cream it helps with my rosacea, makes my skin smooth and looks more youthful.

Go on then, what’s your problem with me getting private surgery for my 1 year old because the NHS totally failed her?
