In your house, do you still have bowls of pot pourri?

Yes to bath salts.
yes to landline, bath, paper bank statements, address book, printed books.
No to everything else.
Do you have a laptop?

VictoriaEra · 28/12/2025 09:30

Printed books? I have 8 bookcases full of printed books. Buy at least one book weekly.

also have a CD player, sandwich maker and faulty landline and paper diary and calendar.

IndependentAdjudicator · 28/12/2025 09:32

Yes several laptops.
Not all mine.

Do you still have young children, say under 5s?

OP posts:
TheChosenTwo · 28/12/2025 09:34

Haha the address book has just reminded me (I don’t have one) that a couple of years ago before my grandad died he asked me to redo his address book.
i went through one by one asking if he wanted each person in the old one to go into the new one and one of them he said yes but then I remembered the person had died. I said “oh no, he died didn’t he?” And my grandad paused and said “yes. Put him in anyway just in case I want to walk past his old house”. His old house was in Sheffield. My grandad lived in London and came to our house and walked in his local area and went nowhere else ever 😂😂

Clarabellawilliamson · 28/12/2025 09:35

Yes to a landline phone, a feature wall of vintage wallpaper in the bedroom, a cd player and paper books. Also yes to paper statements which randomly started arriving a few months ago- need to change that!

no to everything else.

do you have a tea cosy?

TheNightingalesStarling · 28/12/2025 09:36

DH has asked for a new Tea Cisy for his birthday.

No young children.

Do you still have Christmas presents in your living room?

MajesticWhine · 28/12/2025 09:38

I still have DVDs.
yes to landline phone
no young children (smallest is 15)
no tea cosy.

do you have a tv arial?

PixellatedPixie · 28/12/2025 09:38

I don’t have young children under 5 but my sister has a four year old and a baby who are here at least twice a week.

I have a landline and many hundreds of printed books and about three baths in my house. No CD player, record player, address book or iPod. Do you still have a radio? My DD13 has a shower radio and we have a funny windup one too.

Echobelly · 28/12/2025 09:40

No, we took down the aerial when we had some roof work

Do you still have a PC?

(Bit surprised that laptops are seen as old? Are we all supposed to just have tablets now?)

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 28/12/2025 09:40

Do you have a cheque book?

MrsSkylerWhite · 28/12/2025 09:40

No but listen to the radio all day via Alexa.

Do you have a sewing box?

TheNightingalesStarling · 28/12/2025 09:43

No PC.
DD needs a laptop for school, I need one for work, DH has two... DD2 will get her own soon as well.

Had to write a cheque last year and we laughed when we realised our cheque book (which was accepted) had my unmarried name on... we married in 2010.

Still need my sewing box... Scout badges and DHs work uniform plus the odd button.

PixellatedPixie · 28/12/2025 09:44

I have a sewing box but it has spilled over into a sort of sewing drawer full of random sewing stuff as my DD13 dabbles in it. For the first time in about 15 years, the bank sent us cheque books a few weeks ago! Bizarre!

Does Anyone still have a physical map book like an A-Z in the car? 😂 I have antique maps framed on the wall but no map books.

EchoedSilence · 28/12/2025 09:55

Yes to map book in the car. I love maps.

EchoedSilence · 28/12/2025 09:59

Do you still have a chip pan?

rainbowunicorn22 · 28/12/2025 10:01

IndependentAdjudicator · 28/12/2025 10:03

Yes to arial - it came with the roof 🤷‍♀️

Yes to PCs, we work from home.

Yes to sewing box, well it's actually a Percy Pig tin.

Yes to cheque book - it's in the drawer of doom.

No chip pan. Never had one (child of the early 80s, still traumatised from those Public Service videos of chip pan fires/playing near pylons/venturing near deep water.

Do you still have a drawer of doom?
