What are you doing today/Boxing day?

I’ve not long woken up. DS is at his dad’s and I have no family obligations. I’m single so just me and the dog today. It’s a beautiful day here so I think I’ll take a drive (about an hour) to the beach with the dog. I’ll take a packed lunch with some Christmas dinner leftovers. What’s everyone else doing? Hope you all have a lovely day!

I was up early with my grandson.

Had a bit of a tidy around this morning and took my son, DIL and grandson home.

I have some potatoes in the oven so I can have a baked potato with leftover Turkey and stuffing. I have so much food it's untrue. It's just me in the living room right now and the house is very quiet, we had 12 people on Xmas eve and day.

Husband is doing some cleaning. I don't know why he is spending Boxing Day doing this but he's in some kind of weird cleaning zone and I won't put him off!

Tonight we will play some games as a family and have a drink.

We have today to ourselves after a busy day yesterday. I've had a mini sort out. We've been for a walk and watching TV right now - playing it by ear as DH not 100% - might suggest a game later. I'm a bit worried about DH right now as he may need surgery in the next week (they'll take him as an emergency), so have quietly packed a few things away in case we just have to go.

I think I am doing not too badly... had zero plans but in fact it's half one and I have:

• Slept in till 8.30
• Done a couple of loads of laundry (nice drying day here)
• Eaten nice breakfast
• Had a lovely bath with hair mask and face mask (from my home-made beauty AC)
• Cleaned bathrooms (usual Friday job)
• Set up returns for a couple of items for DS that were the wrong size, and ordered the right size
• Watered the tree

Now going to enjoy fave meal of year really – Boxing Day sandwich – and put together the trifle for later. DD is watching Stranger Things, DH and DSs at football so I may take myself off to the other room with my book :)

Went for a long walk this morning - just short of 33,000 steps.

Now knitting (kit I got for Christmas).

We had a walk and coffee this morning. Husband and adult children watching football on TV. Later other young adult DC joins us and we'll watch Stranger Things! Then we'll eat leftovers with bubble and squeak.

Slept in till 11. Kids are happy playing with their new toys. Dh is pottering around with them.
I'm feeling burned out, compleatly dejected and really quite depressed. I'm laying in bed watching the mistletow murders with chocolate a orange for company.
I have adhd, I'm really struggeling with peri monpause and we had my difficult Dm over yeasterday. she brought a rediculas amount of presents and did not stop talking about herself all day. I just feel compleatly done. Anyone else feel like this on boxing day?

Sleeping and reading.
DH has taken DS to his parents for a few hours as they’re having a get together. We hosted his parents yesterday so nobody minds me giving it a miss.
I’m shattered and need a bit of peace and quiet.

i stayed up until 5am with DH watching cricket (the Ashes, on in Aus hence the weird time), slept until 10am. Had a shower and got into clean pjs, had coffee and toast. I’ve been reading and working out what my next knitting project will be (a sweater vest I think). DH and I are having Indian food this evening and he’ll watch the football at 8pm. I’ll half watch it but will probably be knitting and painting my nails. Then coffee and dessert at 11pm ready for another night of cricket.

Tidied kitchen, 3 loads of washing, took tree & decorations down in conservatory, ( lounge will be done tomorrow) now going to have a chilled afternoon n watch a film

Lazy morning, fed dogs, stayed in pjs until 12:30ish, walked dogs, made a quick pot of soup with veggie leftovers as it was freezing out and I craved hot spicy chunky soup when I got back. Am wearing the emergency knickers as I ran out of clean underwear - so have been putting a couple of washes on…. Lovely lazy day…..

Done some washing, been on a countryside walk, played a game with the DC, had 2 cheeseboards and now back in PJs with my kindle.

I built some of my new LEGO set whilst I waited for my DP to get up.

Right now, we’re watching the new Stranger Things episodes as our dinner is cooking (pizza with garlic bread and side salad).

It has been very chilled. I expect I’ll build more LEGO this evening too.

im a nurse and did Christmas Eve night shift so did Christmas yesterday on an hour of sleep 🤣 my son returned from his dads in the afternoon so we just had buffet yesterday so today we’ve just had a chilled day with board games and I’m cooking Christmas dinner for evening meal tonight instead. I have much preferred it though to feeling rushed on Xmas day to get Christmas dinner ready and not spend as much time with them after opening presents as at home I have my sister I care for and my 9 year old so it’s been such a lovely day of board games and chill

i find boxing day boring TBH so im out of the house! I live in a house of football fans so i leave them to it

My mum’s staying with me and DP. We got up around 10am, had toast and salmon pate for breakfast, relaxed and chatted, then we had a leftovers lunch around 2.30pm. Then DP and I watched a football match while my mum read one of her new Christmas books and in a moment we’re going to take her to a Christmas light trail event.

This sounds like the perfect day!

Hope you all had a good day, I enjoyed reading all your posts. Sorry to those who haven’t had the best day, the holidays can be overwhelming. I always need some fresh air/time to myself which can be hard if you have small children or guests.

DDog and I spent a lovely 3 hours at the beach, it was a beautiful day. Home now and DS14 is back from his dad’s. We’ve had leftover beef, pigs in blankets and yorkies for dinner. Going to have a shower with my new toiletries, get into new pyjamas and watch a movie.

A nice lie in, leisurely shower and took the dog for a walk. Then out for lunch.

Home, made some butter (first attempt), started a sourdough starter (hoping it works as want to eat less processed food so going back to making my own bread) and now chilling on the sofa.

Going to watch the football later with a baileys and a cheeseboard.
