Funny car registration plates

I will preface this by saying yes, I have the sense of humour of a 9 yr old.

I saw the car reg XXXX VAJ yesterday and it made me laugh.
When I was buying my car, I had a choice of several, one of the plates was
XXXX UGE to which I said no thank you.

Have you had, or seen any funny ones? (These are random ones, obviously not personalised... I think...)

This has brought back a childhood memory of us having a car with DAD as the reg and the excitement when we spotted MUM on one of our regular long journeys to visit family. Happy times.

A local farming family have XX EGG, XX LAY and XX COW. The COW truck does the milk rounds.

I used to live near I AM 4T

And a chance one. I’m a geotechnical engineer*. One of my colleagues bought new (to them) car a very, very long time ago, and the numberplate was GXXX TEC.

*that’s all about engineering at the interface of the built and natural environments. Foundations. Coastal defences. Mine stabilisation.

I’ve seen some great ones recently - there is a driving instructor local to us whose number plate says PA55 YAY and yesterday I saw a van with the plate OM6 0 WOW, which made me laugh.

Mine is FNXX WKR. Someone once pointed out to me that it could be read as F'in wanker and now that's all I can see when I look at it

Its for a dog daycare centre 🤣

LadyTyburn · 23/12/2025 08:57

Someone near me has 'UFO' as the letters, I'm envious of that one, it makes me smile

A school mum has ORG A5M.

That’s not a possible plate. Must be some other combination.

Same with this I AM 4T is not a possible combination.

DE53XED..no word of a lie...

TheAverageJoanne · 23/12/2025 09:12

Where I live people have their postcode as the first part of a personal registration. I don't understand it because it's not that personal because umpteen others have the same postcode and well, just why?

It may have been different spacing, it was mid 90s on a red Renault 5.

I used to love finding the newspaper pages with all the different number plates for sale. I still remember the one I once found that was GAY 50D.

An older landrover with LEG 404

The driver was indeed, missing a leg

Walker1178 · 23/12/2025 14:26

Many years ago my mum had a Peugeot 306 with a plate that ended in PDO, she hated the fact we all called her car the Paedo Wagon 😂

Not possible regardless of spacing

I saw one N1MPH0

She was about 80 and had a face like a bag of spanners

Oi, that's me and I'm only 49.

My reg ends in OMG

Mine too!! I’ve never seen another one while on my travels

MrsLizzieDarcy · 23/12/2025 14:33

My stepdad bought a car and came home with it - Mum went out to look and went mental, saying "I'm not driving that!". The first letter was C and the last 3 were OCK. He genuinely hadn't seen it Grin

My friend's husband has that too.

Imlyingandthatsthetruth · 23/12/2025 14:52

My very first car, a very long time ago was xxx WTF. Didn't mean a thing at the time, would be worth a fortune now I suppose, although presumably would be outlawed.
