Funny car registration plates

AlpacaYourBags · 22/12/2025 06:30

I will preface this by saying yes, I have the sense of humour of a 9 yr old.

I saw the car reg XXXX VAJ yesterday and it made me laugh.
When I was buying my car, I had a choice of several, one of the plates was
XXXX UGE to which I said no thank you.

Have you had, or seen any funny ones? (These are random ones, obviously not personalised... I think...)

I seen W333 C00 today on an animal transporter.

BootHunter · 22/12/2025 22:41

My reg ends in OMG

sunnyhoneybumblebee · 22/12/2025 22:44

My car reg has WTF as the last 3 digits

I saw one N1MPH0

She was about 80 and had a face like a bag of spanners

In the UK? That’s not a legal combination

HelpMeGetThrough · 22/12/2025 22:59

I had a company car and the last three letters were NOB. Raised a chuckle in the car park every now and then.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/12/2025 23:00

No. Just, no.

I once saw UPU2 on an old Fiat in Glasgow. I then saw it again a few years later on a different car in London.

Growlybear83 · 22/12/2025 23:24

When I was a child, I regularly used to see PEN 15 driving round my area.

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 22/12/2025 23:27

I saw this one today (BRO 2 FAT). Didnt get a look at DDriver to verify.

One near us just says something like B17CH. Fairly sure I've seen one that says GOT R1D or something similar, too. Connected? Perhaps.

XenoBitch · 23/12/2025 00:58

Not an obviously funny one, but I saw one that ended in YPO, and my mum said that is what you do after you washy-o. Made me smile anyway.

PrincessOfPreschool · 23/12/2025 01:06

One local to me is (I think) L3ONS EX. It's a new black range rover and I often wonder how resentful Leon is about paying for the car! Revenge is sweet.

Hurryupwearedreaming · 22/12/2025 07:11

2 that I remember seeing locally are: Pxxx ERV and BJxx xOB. Lots of others that I see as words, but those 2 are the number plates I would refuse.

Edited

I can't remember the exact lettering but I know a guy whose numberplate looked like blowjob. It was on a Corvette. The DVLA tried to take it from him but he threatened to sue so they said he could keep it but wouldn't let him transfer it to another car or sell the car with the reg included.
Used to drive past a house which had 2 cars with numbers 2B and NOT 2B.

narcASD · 23/12/2025 01:47

My dad used to have a wedding car company and one of his cars was HAG

narcASD · 23/12/2025 01:48

Also I’ve got someone on my street with LTB, always think of Mumsnet when I see it

OneWildBiscuit · 23/12/2025 07:02

I saw a Renault Kadja the other day and the reg was XGUGOO (so, joining the model name and reg together = Kajagoogoo) which I thought was very clever, and what is what always springs to mind when I see a Kadja.

GreenGodiva · 23/12/2025 07:16

I had a car that was bj69 lfw ( lazy fucking Wanker). Yes I chose it 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

scalt · 23/12/2025 07:18

I've seen CAT 9. Also, Pimlico Plumbers seem to have a collection of them, such as LO0 2LOO.

I do think, why do they spend customers' money on frivolities, but I suppose they don't cost that much to a company.

SweetPeasandGerberas · 23/12/2025 07:50

It was this time of year, made my DH and I LOL: JO11 YAF

Always wanted to get a car with those three letters on the plate!

You used to be able to offset number plates against tax or something….

Westfacing · 23/12/2025 08:03

Call me sad but I always check the plates on the Pimlico Plumbers - things like LAV 1 and BOG 1

couldthisbe2501 · 23/12/2025 08:04

RU02 FAT drives round near me and I always think ‘yes I am’!

jjeoreo · 23/12/2025 08:08

A school mum has ORG A5M.

BillStickersWillBeProsocuted · 23/12/2025 08:18

I remember when the 69 plates were released they tried to think of any rude combination people might make and ban them, but someone managed to get NO69 YET

There was a convertible BMW near me that had HOP IN, which amused me. Then the driver changed cars to one that wasn't a convertible and I didn't feel it worked as well! 😂
