It's advent for the Playmobil people in our house...

...and so every day between now and Christmas I'll be bringing you some scenes of what they are getting up to during advent.

Today Marta is helping Matthias put up the Christmas decorations. She puts the last bauble on the tree.

I'm going to guess some form of carol singing - as I have done rather a lot of it this week.

Love those ideas! But today we are at the Sea View day centre for the elderly, where some of the ladies are enjoying a cup of tea and a biscuit.

Miss Jennings has brought along the percussion group from Eastgate Primary School to entertain them! They are playing some Christmas carols and songs.

The children are all concentrating very hard.

The ladies give them a massive round of applause!

The children have brought presents too. Pia gives hers to Phyllis.

What a pity some of them are deaf and won’t be able to hear it at full volume!

Arrow has a gift for Joan.

Tanaz presents Josephine with her gift.

Beryl is excited to receive her present from Jens.

Betty loves presents! She is very pleased to accept this one from Esmé.

Everyone has been given a present by the children.

The ladies at Sea View wave goodbye to the children. "Thank you for the music and our gifts!" they say.

The children wave too. "Thank you for inviting us!" they say.

Best friends Betty and Beryl are having a chat over another cup of tea. "Weren't they good!" says Betty. They hope the children will come back again next year.

The children performing to the residents had me chuckling as I recently visited a friend in a residential home where there were some little children visiting doing similar. “Shut the door! Such a racket!” my friend said. I dutifully obliged!

The gifts look very generous! Are they all getting PS4s?!

OOh - so I was almost right? At least they kept the recorders at school. I attended a school concert where the recorder group was accompanied by percussion for a rendition of Grease Lightening and it was memorable......
