Would you eat chicken breast if it was 4 days past its use by date? Looks and smells fine.

Nope

Coffeeishot · 25/11/2025 19:16

Absolutely not !

RampantIvy · 25/11/2025 19:18

God, no.
I have had campylobacter poisoning and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Why would you even consider it?

Why would you even consider doing this??

NotrialNodeal · 25/11/2025 19:20

Hell no!

00Platinum · 25/11/2025 19:22

I would not even feed my dog chicken four days overdue. Do you seriously want that touching things in your kitchen? 1-2 days is a risk, 4 days is asking for D and V

NoMoreHotHols · 25/11/2025 20:25

I’d give it to the dog as I hate food waste.

GU24Mum · 25/11/2025 20:26

No way. For context, I am extremely relaxed about dates as a general rule but NOT for chicken!

ShesTheAlbatross · 25/11/2025 20:28

Wouldn’t even slightly consider it

SquigglePigs · 25/11/2025 20:28

No chance!

gingercat02 · 25/11/2025 20:30

No way! I will eat almost anything but not dodgy chicken

Tighteningmybelt · 25/11/2025 20:34

No

CalmShaker · 25/11/2025 20:55

Absolutely fowl

DramaAlpaca · 25/11/2025 20:56

Definitely not! It's asking for trouble.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 25/11/2025 20:57

This! I was ill for four weeks with it and ended up on antibiotics. Now never eat chicken (or any meat actually) in a restaurant.

PoppySaidYesIKnow · 25/11/2025 21:53

No

Funnywonder · 25/11/2025 22:07

I do the sniffing and prodding about thing all the time with the contents of my fridge. But out of date chicken goes straight in the composting bin. I’m not sure I’d even consider 1 day out of date chicken, let alone 4 days.

You shouldn't put meat in the compost bin. I just put vegetable peelings and garden waste in mine.

RosesAndHellebores · 25/11/2025 22:12

I am a sniffer and prodder and not squeamish. No!

StewkeyBlue · 25/11/2025 22:13

No.

I wouldn’t even get as far as considering it.

ProfessorRedshoeblueshoe · 25/11/2025 22:16

Last week I ate a jar of salsa that was 7 years out of date, It was delicious. Your chicken - NO
