It's time 🎵🎶 well nearly, 2 hours and change until it drops. It should be 10.30.
Its my favourite time of year but as usual I will probably be useless and depend heavily on mumsnetters for help to decipher.

I searched and couldn't find another thread if there's one already up and running ill delete this.

Edited for proper link

Finally got the calendar. All done, Wouldn't have finished it without everyone's help x

Had a weird glitch and some weren't accepted first time. Tattoo one took about four attempts

Cleo2025 · 14/11/2025 17:05

I'm still missing the painting, the safe, and the books with names of seas. Any hints please? Number of words for each would be very helpful.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/11/2025 17:10

@Cleo2025the safe is written by a Dutch author and was nominated for lots of awards

the boats in the picture are on what where ?

the sea books? You’ve already got it, it just repeats!

Finally finished with a lot of help from you guys!!

I've got arm, top left books (read that!), side table books, slippers, blanket. I thought I had the cat, was so sure, but tried a few permutations and it's not right.

What's a "scholarly" term for a witch's friend that is also an animal?
I'm stuck on the side table books - both names of seas, but nothing I've tried has worked. As for the arm, I was sure it was that Nordic detective thing, but no!

Double check you’ve got the name of the book you were putting in for the arm correct - for some reason it didn’t like accepting my answer for that and it sounds like you may be thinking of the same one.

You’re almost there with “the sea” books, but try it twice.

MargaretThursday · 14/11/2025 18:31

Phew! I think I got more wild guesses this year.

I had the same problem with the arm clue. I had to just keep trying.

Thanks! It was the wrong segment of the picture (arm), not the wrong answer - that girl is getting on my nerves - she's got three different clues, not including the fruit throw (blanket, shawl....). The seas I got, thanks!

Ekal · 14/11/2025 18:44

Any thoughts on the vegetable books? I've got thirteen so far, and considering I only started at 5 pm (UTC), I'm doing pretty well. My sister tries to persuade me to save a few clues for later, because it's a bit of an anti-climax when I finish!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/11/2025 18:50

The vegetables is a book by a Korean winner of the Nobel Prize

I'm always completely hopeless at anything like this. I've looked at the clues and have no idea what any of them are.

I have a degree from a top uni so I'm supposed to be intelligent but I'm convinced an IQ test would measure me lower than a hamster.

I did a training course once where we were given some of those Edward de Bono style puzzles to do and I scored zero, the only person on the course to do so.

Surely zero on one of those tests is an achievement in itself? It shows how many variations there are in thinking styles. I notice I gravitate towards cognitive tasks I excel in , which is not good for brain health. I would be better off developing neglected areas.

MyOtherProfile · 14/11/2025 20:23

I got 7 right answers in about 15 minutes and now am stuck. I might need to go back through this thread and check out the clues.

My zero definitely stood out!

I enrolled on a dressmaking course once and it was hopeless. I just couldn't grasp how the pieces of paper were meant to relate to the thing I was trying to make.

For the cat, think about the word that is usually used to describe a witch's pet/companion

I can’t get this quite right. Is it one word or is there an article with it?

Two words and yes to your question.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 15/11/2025 00:38

Finished, & I wouldn't have made it without the help here (& some vigorous googling), so thank you. And many thanks to the OP.

For anyone stuck on the laptop one, there's an unrelated film starring Jake Gyllenhaal with the same title.

ETA 2011 😀
