The woman one is a mystery novel by a Victorian male author WC. It was a sensation when published

Yay! I’ve finished it - mainly due to everyone’s clues and help on here (thank you!), plus a lot of help from google. So many books I have not come across before.

Final two for me to go are the Minnie Tree and the seas books. Can’t for the life of me figure out the tree one despite people’s clues… thanks so much for everyone’s help though!
