Its my favourite time of year but as usual I will probably be useless and depend heavily on mumsnetters for help to decipher.

Look at the name on his collar and he's looking up at his owner with an expression of...? (And think of the most famous book of all time with a protagonist with the same name as the pup).

Thanks all for the clues - lots of books I’d never heard of this year, so not as much fun for me as usual. I prefer it when I have at least an outside chance of getting most of them.

stuck on - the safe, the stars spinning and the painting.

I still can’t get those from the clues given here so far!

For the stars one: What do the planets do around the sun? Now extend that word to make a seven letter word that could also describe the M25 i.e. the London XXXXXXX.

Only have the safe left. Simple clue for a dim-witted person please!

Two words. The first one is a simple three letter word. The second - why would you put something in a safe? And how might you tell someone about it e.g. “I put the jewellery in the safe for XXXXXXXXXXX” - but lose the ending.

It’s not a book I’d ever heard of.

As I am a book editor, I see more books than I would like, haha. I will leave the token for everyone else to win!

The safe book was apparently shortlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize, if anyone needs to look it up!

Very recent book, Turkish author

I have three that I am stuck on. I keep thinking the Calendar clue is Saturday Night and Sunday morning by Alan Sillitoe but it is not
Also stuck on the Clock Tree. Minnietime? Small time Minnie?
