Has anyone had any Little Treats from Waitrose yet?

Am wondering what the Little Treats actually involve?

Chocolate! Im just on yogurt...

I managed to get the £250 last Saturday, DD is back from uni, food shopping is suddenly more expensive.

I bought the more expensive mince today, justifying it with "it's £4 off".

But I also prefer a free item, unless it's weird crumpets or strange bags.

Chocolate comes at 100 spend...

Never bought mince, tend to go to Tesco for Aberdeen Angus mince. Will look again at Waitrose mince

I buy the Duchy Organic if it's on offer, currently normal price is £8!

Theire Angus 12% fat is nice, I don't have a Tesco nearby so don't know that one and the Sainsbury is less good quality I think.

I have liked most of the Little Treats but on balance I think that the member perks are less now with Waitrose than they used to be. We lost the free hot drinks instore although they have been reinstated. We don't benefit from those anyway as we live a long way from a store and have online deliveries. We lost the free newspapers and those have not been reinstated. I did think the opportunity of 7 free newspapers a week was perhaps overgenerous so understand why Waitrose dropped that. We always used to have a Saturday or Sunday delivery to make use of a free weekend newspaper once a week. We miss that perk and it would be good if Waitrose brought back even one free newspaper a week. It was a nuisance when they brought in free newspapers with mid-afternoon and evening deliveries only but that was the only negative.

The weekly vouchers used to be more generous than they are now. We used to receive vouchers up to about £5 a week, including £3 and £4 ones off products we bought regularly. Now we receive 3 vouchers each week for just 50p off regularly bought items and the odd £1 off products we mostly don't tend to buy. I can't remember the last time we received any of the 'money off if you spend over a certain amount' vouchers. They now seem to be just for new rather than loyal customers. We're also paying £8 a month for deliveries, which is less than before the delivery pass came in but in the past deliveries were free for a minimum spend.

On balance for us the new Little Treats over each month don't add up to the loss of the weekly newspaper or the better vouchers.

I agree the vouchers are not as good as they were and I haven't had the £5 if you spend £40 type for years either. But it seems the instore offer is a bit better than online, obviously no delivery fees, free coffee, pick up the magazine (can you get that delivered?) and weekend newsletter. Also masses of yellow-stickered items in the early evenings. I did used to go in just for the free newspapers but I'm not surprised they couldn't sustain that and I prefer online now.

Waitrose is actually our nearest supermarket to get a full weekly shop done so we hit the treat levels most months unless we are away. Treats, vouchers or not, it doesn't really matter that much for us unfortunately.

But I agree, the vouchers with proper money off "£x off when you spend £Y" have long been gone. The magazine is not bad but is now also quite a lot of advertisement and I think I cook maybe 1 recipe from each edition.

I do this too and they are always things I’d usually buy. What I don’t get is why they make it such a ball ache to redeem them; I’m clearly a good customer so why make me jump through the hoop of ‘activating’ the offer? (Same question to M&S and Co-op…)

Sainsbury’s is the same. You can’t even do it in the Sainsbury’s app, you’ve got to go into the Nectar app and do it there and then go back to the Sainsbury’s app and hope it’s been activated.

Makes no flipping sense.

There’s also no phone reception in our local Waitrose/Sainsbury’s/M&S so good luck if you haven’t sorted out the vouchers before you head in.

Sainsburys you do it in the Scan and Shop app, but not sure if you can do it if you aren't self-scanning. Or through the handsets, I think you can on those now. The wifi in ours is useless, so I always have to switch it off and use 5G. Also, they still print out out those paper coupons at the tills, why can't those offers go straight onto the card too.

I suppose the logic is that they want you to open the app, I tend to forget as I have all the loyalty cards saved in my apple wallet because it is quicker to scan them that way. Also if you don't open the app you can't see what offers you've got and might not buy the things. Why they can't just activate once you've opened the app I don't know thought, the whole thing is quite annoying.

Sounds like you live near me, absolutely zero service in any of those shops near me.

we had chocolates in other months, biscuits, crumpets and scones. So it’s not really surprising.

Ewww, I hate those sorts of sweets. The family will eat them though.

It's a treat, not a free piece of veg. Maybe write to them to ask for a change in the approach.

Although I did prefer when Lidl did the regular free veg coupons. Better for my weekly shop!

I don't like them either. But DD might or they are added to the foodbank collection in store.

Well I got my candy kittens today! And the next reward was £2.50 off a shop

so I bought my shop, paid, shoved it all in the car, went back in, picked up two bags of disco dream candy kittens , and paid the princely sum of 25p! (2.75 a bag, got my free bag and my £2.50 off)

My regular weekly money off vouchers (not LTs) have gone down even further now from 3 x 50p to 2 x 50p.

I have not have any money off vouchers for 2 weeks now.
I do online shop every week.

Same here. We get a couple of extra vouchers for Waitrose own brand items but it's nothing I buy normally or would be tempted to try out.

A shame as Waitrose remains my go-to shop distance wise and also for meat and fruit&veg quality.
