It would appear that Venezuela had already suspended 6 airlines from operating there after they suspended flights following warnings from the FAA last week.

Russias "strategy" in the Ukraine is clearly predicated on the US bullying Ukrainian allies into submission. A strategy that needs a POTUS that can do that.

Each passing minute seems to be eating away at that premise. So now they are desperate in having to not appear desperate. Developments like a "surprise" 5-year advance in anti drone tech by the UK (for example) aren't really helping.
