Just that really. When do you put your tree up? Also do you make it a family tradition and let children help or do it alone so it’s perfect lol

Doesn't the dust get on your nerves?

The dust that lands on the baubles & tree over the course of the time you have it up

Always up for the 12 days though. I hate it when people take theirs down on Boxing Day as to me, that is the Christmas period and they’re pissing on my Christmas chips. Grin

Completely agree.
Even when I have to go back to work on Boxing Day that week between Christmas and new year is still festive times.

Ours goes up at the beginning of December (no fixed date) and comes down around the 5th January. Sometimes a couple of days earlier depending on what we have on, sometimes the 6th.

Usually 1st of November but we are supposed to be moving and I currently have no tree as I threw out our old 1 in the skip as it was starting to lean...Council are messing us about so could be going up as soon as I purchase a new one ..do what makes you happy in life not what you think others say you should or should not be doing..Christmas is my favourite time of year and since my Mam died suddenly a few years ago I do what I enjoy the most and have no care what people think x

I just clean as I do with any other ornament? Not an issue

When we had family the tree went up 1st December. Now it's just the two of us we usually put our tree up around the 2nd weekend, after our Little Christmas with friends down south.
This year, I am hosting an early Christmas lunch for a group we belong to, on 20th November, so the tree will be up in time for that and I will probably put all the other decorations up then too. We only usually have the tree now so it will be nice, I hope, to be fully Christmassed./

Winter lights (warm white) are now up and on outside of house and cheer me up when get home from school each evening. Then from beg Dec minimal inside house decorations/advent calendar/wreath on door. Real tree not until mid December earliest as I get school xmas tree when we break up and tree and all inside decorations down 2nd Jan. Agsin I try and leave fairy lights on outside of house as long as poss as think of them more as winter lights and they cheer me up in the dark depths of January.

Never up before Sinterklaas and always down before New Year’s Eve
