What!!! Is this true? Who will take over? I'm shocked!

OP posts:
NagathaCrispy · 23/10/2025 12:37

Thank goodness for that. Claudia gives me the rage - can't stand her - and Tess needs a rest too. Time for some new faces to take over.

YourOliveBalonz · 23/10/2025 12:39

Poppy61 · 23/10/2025 11:20

Zoe Ball and Rylan.

First suggestion I can see working!

OhLordy123 · 23/10/2025 12:40

Angela Scanlon?

HollyhockDays · 23/10/2025 12:41

I hate all of the Claudia bit just give us the scores.

BBC made a big thing of two women hosting so will be interesting if they stick to that format.

hopelessbusiness · 23/10/2025 12:46

Some ideas to make the show 'big' again...
Sack the bloody awful tear-fest, aka 'couples choice'
Back to basics - more waltz and foxtrot, less salsa & Charleston
Less difficult dances in early weeks - no sambas, Argentine tangos etc til later stages
Better music, less crowbar-ing dances into music that just isn't right
Fewer theme weeks
No same sex pairings - just no need
No obligatory disabled contestant as it changes the whole dynamic.

Just my thoughts!

AtIusvue · 23/10/2025 12:49

Tom Allen for presenter! He’s brilliant on the Bake-off after show.
He would keep it from turning into the love fest it’s become, by cutting through all gushing.

MrsSlocombesCat · 23/10/2025 12:51

They'll have to be really careful who they pick as replacements. I think Anton Du Beke would make a fantastic main host. Reminiscent of Brucie. Maybe Rylan or Dermot O'Leary as co host? Let the men have a turn!

Daphnedot · 23/10/2025 12:52

Rylan and Rob Rinder would be good

Hopefully the Beeb will finally put this tired old show to bed. It's had it's time and people like me who are not fans and have never watched a second deserve some different prime time prime season programming.

Agreed! Every autumn, as the nights draw in, I think how much I'd like a Saturday night in front of the TV..... and it's always Strictly! I did try with it on a couple of occasions, but it's unwatchable..... the dreadful audience clapping out of time, Tess Daly, sentimental chitchat, celebs I've never heard of.
How about they do a show about people learning a new skill without any of the ridiculous add ons? I'd watch that.

Fionasapples · 23/10/2025 12:53

Great news!

NooNakedJacuzziness · 23/10/2025 12:53

Please not Stacey Dooley and Kev

AliceMaforethought · 23/10/2025 12:54

Time the entire thing was put out to pasture IMO.

It's been going on too long and has got very stale.

Pieceofpurplesky · 23/10/2025 12:55

To the people saying Z list celebrities. I don't think they are really - it's just certain age groups etc. don't know them. I had no clue who George was - DS knew straight away. Don't watch the soaps, but other people do. Knew the gladiator as an athlete. We all know different people.

It's time for a change. Stop the Sunday night TV version and boot them out on TV when they go do on the show!

TheKeeperofBooks · 23/10/2025 10:24

What!!! Is this true? Who will take over? I'm shocked!

I’ve always maintained that Tess Daly, Cat Deely and Holly Willoughby are the same person.

LlynTegid · 23/10/2025 12:56

End the show, just have an annual Christmas special in future. If it does come back, have shows with a weekly winner and then a final of all the weekly winners.

GwendolineWindowlene · 23/10/2025 12:59

Tom Allen doing Claud and Clara Amfo as Tess? I really liked Clara on the proms, she is a very calm presence.

Apart from the pay check, I'm not sure how appealing the Tess role is, there isn't really room there for anyone to inject much of their personality.

threescoops · 23/10/2025 12:27

As it's the BBC they've probably got a Drag Queen lined up, they like to crowbar one in at every opportunity

So true! There will be an article on the BBC website any minute now about a drag queen being really sad that Tess and Claudia are going.

CrimsonStoat · 23/10/2025 13:02

It might have been leaked and the press were going to go with the story, so the BBC just getting ahead of that.

WeeGeeBored · 23/10/2025 13:04

OhLordy123 · 23/10/2025 10:32

Who would be good replacements? Cant think of anyone atm!!!

It’s gonna be Alison Hammond, isn’t it?

ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird · 23/10/2025 13:06

Never really saw the point of Tess, whose job seemed to be looking and sounding awkward on the ground floor and waving people up the stairs to Claudia.

Claudia is legitimately funny and seems wasted on Strictly.

Hopefully their departures might be a sign that Strictly Come will Strictly Go. I've enjoyed it for a few years but now it seems to be much more about performative virtue and pointless scandal than it is about dancing and fun.

dontcallmelen · 23/10/2025 13:08

WeeGeeBored · 23/10/2025 13:04

It’s gonna be Alison Hammond, isn’t it?

Bloody hope not or Rylan either had more than enough of both of them.

Liondoesntsleepatnight · 23/10/2025 13:11

Scott Mills and Kylie (I’m sure she wouldn’t a stay back in the UK).

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 23/10/2025 13:13

Iwanttoliveinagardencentre · 23/10/2025 11:02

I hate change.
This is just another fairly constant thing in life slipping away.
I don’t blame them of course, just a bit sad.

And yes, I do have autism.

I feel the same! I liked the consistency.

I also wonder if something had happened.

IfNot · 23/10/2025 13:15

I always assumed the theme of Claudia going off- piste and Tess looking panicked was their act? They are playing characters- Tess is the straight woman- I think it’s a bit unfair to trash her for that!
Mel and Sue would be great.

askmenow · 23/10/2025 13:16

It’s soooo over!
