The type of people that are like sunshine! Mine was an ex manager. Never a bad word to say about anyone, had a disabled husband and both her dad and bother died young but was was just fabulous and positive

My MIL

I've known her 42 years and she's never been anything other than utterly lovely.

MissBattleaxe · 18/10/2025 19:14

What a lovely thread! I have a colleague and also a dear friend who are both so lovely, they really shine. They are full of kindness and so nice to be around.

DustyMaiden · 18/10/2025 19:18

My Sil, she helps us look after our Dad and is just a kind a thoughtful person,

ContraryCurrentBun · 18/10/2025 19:20

My friend from first day of primary school, DH didn’t meet her till he was about 35 as she lived overseas. He said she was like sunshine in real life.

Sagaciously · 18/10/2025 19:22

Hard to say. Probably my husband. He’s nothing but kind, thoughtful and lovely.

Summerhillsquare · 18/10/2025 19:24

A woman who works for our local community group as an organiser. Always cheerful, witty, huggy and full of admiration for others.

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 18/10/2025 19:25

My daughter’s godmother. Just positive, lovely, caring in every way.

Echobelly · 18/10/2025 19:29

Maybe a friend of DH who I think is a great mum - better at boundaries than me and giving kids responsibilities, but always with love and kindness. Helped her husband out of (functioning but still harmful) alcohol dependence with sheer patience. Helped me a lot when I was trying to breastfeed. Always makes an effort with friends and family. She's firm but fair and kind of my mum-hero

Pollqueen · 18/10/2025 19:31

My eldest DGD. They're all lovely and loved, but she is a ray of sunshine and so loving and kind

Yogabearmous · 18/10/2025 19:32

My husband. He is the most caring and wonderful man, he is kind to everyone.

Endofyear · 18/10/2025 19:36

My DH is the best man I know - kind, funny, always got my back! Still makes me laugh a lot, brings me a cup of tea in bed (and a bacon sarnie this morning!) and is a lovely dad to our boys.

I have a friend who always cheers me up and puts a smile on my face - she is like sunshine on your face! We always have such a laugh together and put the world to rights.

BlueOceanFish · 18/10/2025 19:36

My DH who is calm and kind but fun.

A brilliant friend who I work with. She just knows what to say to make me feel better, but she also makes me side splitting laugh all the time.

My MIL

I've known her 42 years and she's never been anything other than utterly lovely.

Same, though only 22 years in my case.

Ilikecocacola · 18/10/2025 19:43

Our Babysitter. Over the years she became a friend too.
She picked me up in some dark times, and was always so so lovely

endofthecorridoor · 18/10/2025 19:58

My friend and yoga teacher is a sunshine DH says she should be a scented candle she makes the house feel so relaxing.

828Pax · 18/10/2025 19:59

Honestly my DH has to be up there.
would genuinely do anything for anyone, he is always so happy and friendly to anyone he meets.

I also have a friend who is just so bloody wonderful and kind and really is like a little ray of sunshine whenever I see her!

AliceInNorthumberland · 18/10/2025 20:05

My late Granny. She gave the loveliest of hugs and I miss her quite a lot still even though it's been almost 20 years

Happilyobtuse · 18/10/2025 20:08

Both my mum and my sister! Love them to bits. Truly kind, generous, thoughtful women, who go out of their way to do nice things for other people.

Dearg · 18/10/2025 20:26

My niece. Just the sweetest, happiest woman I know. Mum of two toddlers, but always makes time for the oldies and great-oldies in the family.

Pieceofpurplesky · 18/10/2025 20:27

It used to be my beautiful mum but dementia has stolen her from me. Breaks my heart every time I see her.

Always consider myself incredibly lucky to have the loveliest SILs and MIL.
Kind, thoughtful, courageous, intelligent, genuine and warm. Funny too.
Women who have embraced me with open arms and are basically just such a joy to be around.

ScrewyouJonathon · 18/10/2025 20:32

My Mum and I’m not just saying this because she’s mine. 71 and still works full time in care, visits housebound folk at home as part of the outreach at her church. Will post money through people’s door anonymously because they are struggling. Is always there for me not matter what, drops everything if one of us need her. Barely moans even when life is really shit. She is the epitome of kindness and the best person I know. I am very lucky she is mine.

Hatty65 · 18/10/2025 20:35

My late friend. I miss her so much. She was the kindest person ever and died far too young.

HornyHornersPinger · 18/10/2025 21:10

My daughter's reception teacher (she's Yr 3 now). Literally a ray of sunshine, a real-life Miss Honey. I feel privileged to know her ❤️
