My mum, who now has dementia but is the kindest, most caring person ever.

it’s now my turn to look after her and I hope I do it as well as she looked after me.

This is a wonderful thread. It's lovely to hear of so many sunshiny people! I'm so blessed, as I know a number of sunshines - but a shout out for my dad. Two years ago, he was physically strong for his age, very active and independent. Now he's in a care home, very deaf and fragile. It's a wonderful care home, but no one ever wants to lose their independence and have to go into care. But Dad never complains, is constantly interested in others and is a joy to be with. A wonderful man. I love him to bits.

My sister in law. She goes out of her way to help anyone who needs it. My best mate was the loviest person I've ever met. She sadly passed away suddenly in her early 40s. I was devestated.

There’s a crossing guard at the school round the corner who shines brighter than any person I ever met. He is so cheerful and kind and generous with everyone. One day I went to start my car and it was dead - he ran to his own car and got a charger and called out to two men who live in a nearby house to help me as he was in duty and all three insisted on waiting with me till it started. He is Jamaican and he makes everyone who passes by smile. I’m not a morning person so it stands out to me how much I look forward to seeing him.

The little boy I volunteer to visit in his care home every other weekend. I would give literally anything to be able to take him home. He's amazing ❤️

My best friend. She’s one in a million and has been through the most horrific of divorces. I wish hellfire on her scumbag ex, anyone who can screw her over has some seriously bad juju hanging over them.

My best female friends. Both amazingly kind, brilliant, social etc. God knows why they're my friends...

ladygindiva · 20/10/2025 21:18

My mum. Lucky me.

My beautiful Mum who died in December.. I'd never heard anyone say anything bad about her. Ever. She was loved, admired and respected by everyone who met her. I was lucky she was my Mum..

My husband's aunt is genuinely the nicest person I've ever met.
