Hellmans mayonnaise. Can't think of any others, but that's not negotiable in this house.

Gowlett · 10/10/2025 12:30

Barry’s Tea

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 10/10/2025 12:31

Meat.

Loads actually. The only thing I would buy the cheapest of is veg and ice. Oh and I love cheap instant noodles.

BuffetTheDietSlayer · 10/10/2025 12:31

HP brown sauce
Coca Cola full sugar

TeapotCollection · 10/10/2025 12:31

Has to be Pepsi Max here too, cheap coke is shit

My husband eats a lot of baked beans and he insists on Heinz, he’s tried others but reckons none come anywhere near

murasaki · 10/10/2025 12:33

Oh, another one, Bird's-eye fish fingers. I tried Youngs and the fish was all mushed up, not flaky. It's a no from me. My fish finger sandwich deserves better.

DiscoBob · 10/10/2025 12:34

Yes to only buying real coke.

I don't think there's many if any other brands I have strict loyalty to. I would always go for own brand where possible.

I guess dried pasta. The really cheap stuff is grim. Like the most budget supermarket own brand. But I don't really buy pasta that much except the filled fresh ones. I prefer the 'posher' versions of those.

hurryupmay · 10/10/2025 12:35

disaronno or baileys

Paperpensanddustmotes · 10/10/2025 12:36

I was a strictly Heinz ketchup girl, then tried the M&S one and I converted!

For me it's proper diet coke & lurpack.

Saltnchilli · 10/10/2025 12:37

Heinz ketchup
Coca Cola
Chocolate - has to be cadburys for me
Yorkshire Tea

LoveSandbanks · 10/10/2025 12:41

Gin, tonic (always fevertree) teabags (Yorkshire), chocolate; cheap chocolate is GRIM!

JillyJoy · 10/10/2025 12:44

Hellman's Mayonnaise
Chocolate; Lidl dark choc with hazelnuts.

goingtotown · 10/10/2025 12:45

Bisto Best Gravy

BrendaSmall · 10/10/2025 12:46

Kenco decaf coffee
Heinz salad cream
kellogs frosties
Branstons baked beans
Robinsons squash
KP dry roasted peanuts
Walkers crisps
Bournville dark chocolate
🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
🤣🤣🤣🤣
There’s a whole lot more too!!

SpottyAardvark · 10/10/2025 12:47

Coca cola is a given. There is just no substitute.

Other than that, in our house it’s Yorkshire tea, HP Sauce & Frank Cooper’s marmalade.

DominosForDinner · 10/10/2025 12:47

My number one is meals with meat in such as cheap sausages 🤢

I made a mistake of reading an article about “extruded meat” once. I don’t think I ever recovered from it!

soupyspoon · 10/10/2025 12:49

Yorkshire tea

Jasmin71 · 10/10/2025 13:01

Maille Dijon Mustard
Kikommen Soy Sauce
La Chinata Smoked Paprika
Seasoned Pioneers Ras-el hanout
Neuhaus Pralines

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 10/10/2025 13:01

Budget baked beans give me the ick.

Squishydishy · 10/10/2025 13:03

Gosh realised how unfussy I am. Happy to eat own brand mayo, ketchup, cola, butter etc etc.

my main thing is it has to be good orange juice with bits, would never drink the from concentrate. Also don’t like cheap tomatoes, like the tastier on the vine ones

Nevereatcardboard · 10/10/2025 13:05

Heinz ketchup, Hellman’s mayonnaise,Coke, Cadbury’s chocolate, Yorkshire teabags, Twinings herbal teabags, Nescafé instant coffee, Birds Eye fishfingers, Alpen, Jordan’s granola, Rose’s lime cordial, Walker’s crisps, Uncle Ben’s microwaveable rice. Lots of branded preferences once I started to think about it!

Dartmoorcheffy · 10/10/2025 13:06

Eggs. I will only buy high welfare free range, or ones from my local farm shop.

JuvenileBigfoot · 10/10/2025 13:06

Heinz Ketchup.
Hellmans Mayo.
Weirdly I'm ok with own-brand salad cream.
Branston beans.
Nicer tinned tomatos. Can be supermarket brand but not the value version as its too watery.
Yorkshire tea.
Tilda microwave rice. Own brands come out all sticky and lumpy.

Statesider · 10/10/2025 13:24

Meat, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, butter, rice, and frozen vegetables all have to be the best quality for us. I try to buy in season fresh fruit and vegetables.

Serenity45 · 10/10/2025 13:31

Usually happy with own brand but either DH or I insist on the following:

Real coca cola / cherry coke (not diet so it's a weekend treat for us)
Heinz tomato ketchup and baked beans
Birds Eye fish fingers
Nespresso pods from Nespresso (I don't drink coffee at all but DH has tried I think every cheaper alternative both in stores and online and they don't match up for him)
Cadbury's or Galaxy chocolate (I don't usually like the posh stuff or the cheaper options)
