Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after boy cat woke me up for cuddles just after 8. Girl cat magically appeared at the side of me too! We came down at half past ish, and they've now vanished back upstairs. She had a look in the biscuit bowl before going but someone's eaten all the good ones apparently - she walked away from them 🤣.

We're off to buy dd2 some new trainers and earphones today, as well as finish buying dd1's list for when I go visit in 2 weeks. At this rate I'll need a bigger case than I have so that I can actually take my things too!

Unfortunately, the earphone that went through the wash last week doesn't work 😥. They were about 5 years old though so sound quality's maybe improved on newer ones (maybe?).

When we get in, we'll probably just relax/mooch about for a couple of hours before reheating the remains of last night's Chinese takeaway for tea 😋, and getting something out to defrost for tomorrow evening. Dd1 started her maths homework last night, so she'll probably carry on with that.

After that, showers and chill for a couple of hours with my book - dd2 will almost certainly still be up when I go to bed!

Been up since dawn, on second coffee, tumble dryer load already in tumble

Dad and youngster left early to chase a ball about for a bit, eldest is about to be woken up.

Into town this afternoon for bowling, then dinner out out then film.

Have to run around for a couple of hours first think weekend teen is staying tonight

I don’t seem to get time to read during September I have the new Strike book unopened - I would like a wet weekend next weekend with all shopping and chores done and I can sit by a rainy window, drink teas and escape into a world of private detectives!

But we have a 17th birthday this week and first driving lesson to get through (oh my lordie lord) so probably need to locate the provisional.

Morning @lucysmam. I was up early to drop DD to work for 8.30. Just having a cuppa and some breakfast now. I'm due at the hairdresser's at 10. Then I'll do the supermarket shop and clean the fridge.

It's a very wet and dismal day here which is disappointing, as we had lovely Autumnal weather the past few days. I need to pick up a book for my book club. If they have it in the local book shop, I'll have a read of it later, by the fire. If not, I'll just watch TV or a movie or something. Have a nice weekend everyone.

DC2 has a test at one of her perspective secondary schools so we're just about the leave for that.

I'm going to find somewhere for a coffee and a pastry whilst I wait for her.

This afternoon DC2 has a party, DC1 is meeting a friend so I'm going to take DC3 out on her bike / to the park.

Fajitas for dinner, although DC1 and DC2 will have already eaten and then a film later.

Morning been up since silly o clock. My son came downstairs asking if I was a burglar 😂😂😂 going for a drink with a guy for the first time in four years.....eeek!!

V&A Cartier Exhibition with my daughter, nothing else is of note at all. I'm going to enjoy this and the rest after a very busy few weeks.

I’m nursing my first head cold of the season but DH has supplied me with toast and hot coffee and told me to stay in bed for a bit so I actually feel very cosy.

Beautiful autumn weather here today- bright and cold- so I’ll get up soon and shake it off because I have things to do and I can’t be doing with a cold.

Main goals for today are laundry; delegate house tidying roles to the DC; and set up some fencing to let me lovely hens roam a bit further in the garden (having scraped the bejesus out of their existing run).

Might muster the troops for a walk into town later to seek more coffee and some cake. Happy Saturday everyone!

Was rudely forced awake by cat and dog tag team. To be fair during the week we are up earlier.

All pets fed and dog had a pee. We are going for a big dog walk in a few hours.
Everyone else in bed still. I’ve done a quick tidy and will shower soon.

Lots of family popping by today so lunch to be made for everyone though DH will sort that.

Tonight me and DD will finish dept Q

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I've had two coffees, a cuppa and a slice of toast. Showered, stripped the bed and washed the whites and I've been to Aldi. I'm just heading out for second breakfast at the local garden centre with a friend. Have a good day all.

I’m always impressed by those of you who have so much done at this time in morning.
Ddog and I have had breakfast and she sloped back off to bed while I chopped veg to put in the slow cooker for lunch.
We will have a walk later and then a trip with DD to Asda to look at the Home section.

Still in bed. Had two teeth out yesterday so feeling headachy. Also hungry as couldn't eat much yesterday. Might go to garden centre later but that's about it as far as plans go.

Just had a lovely fry up courtesy of dh and am about to have a coffee. Ds had a pal for a sleepover last night so they're entertaining themselves. Got various house stuff and admin to do today - don't mind too much as the weather is rubbish. First though I have a massage - very much looking forward to it! Don't know what I fancy for food today. Might get some inspiration from you guys. I fancy something autumnal and casseroley. I've got a jigsaw puzzle I'd like to start - The World of Hercule Poirot - and I'll need to fit in a chunk of Japanese study. A movie or some Demon Hunter later, I think, and maybe a bit of cross-stitch. A nice, restful, cozy day, fingers crossed.

Kids actually been sooooo good and left me alone and have self-regulated their screen time and not fought (watch them explode now I’ve said that!) - so I’ve got LOADS of jobs done round the house that have been driving me mad the last few weeks. The final bits of my end of summer declutter are finally happening.

Im off to work this afternoon, DS1 off to a party, DH taking other 2 kids swimming. Can’t wait to get home for family time and strictly!

Lazy weekend, I’m still in bed watching stuff on the iPad, had a hectic past couple of weeks health wise and got some operations coming up, so I plan to do nothing but laze about and watch crappy reality tv shows this weekend 😅

DD's bedroom is getting blitzed by me today. She's going out with her dad and has given me permission to be ruthless. Massive step forward for her as she is a bit of a hoarder. I don't care that I'm doing it for her, I just want her to have a clean, calm, serene bedroom.

Then I've got 7 bags of clean laundry to sort through for keep, donate, bin.

I will feel so good by the end of the weekend if I get this done.

I woke around 8.30 am, made me and my husband a mug of tea, and took it back upstairs to drink in bed. Fed our beautiful Fonzie cat, who wanted to be let out the front door (he has a perfectly working cat flap, but is lazy!) and put my son's school blazer on to wash. Our 14 year old son woke around 8.45 am, made himself breakfast. I've put a white wash on in the machine, and now a coloured. Once everyone else is dressed, we're off into town, as I have a flu jab at our local Asda pharmacy (cheaper than Boots), and we need to buy a few things too. Not sure what we're doing this afternoon, possibly visit my parents and I have a lasagne to made for our dinner tonight!

My new Vacuum cleaner (Vax) arrived yesterday so I am going to try the attachments out on the sofa as soon as DH stops watching his True Crime nonsense and gets off it.
I have suggested we go for a walk later as its sunny here, we walk DDog twice a day but hes a bit old and arthritic and I fancy a longer walk without him. Don't know where we are going yet though
Then I will need to decide what to make for tea (supper if you are not Northern) and then end the day with a glass of Pinot Grigio watching Marvel Zombies on Disney+ with DS. DH cancelled Disney+ due to the Jimmy Kimmel thing so we only have it for another week so we need to binge anything we like on there

On Saturdays I "work" in my wife's art gallery. Unlike student retail jobs I can sit down and drink tea.

Playing "cool gallery" music, and of course loads of time for social media.

I'm going to a friend's wedding. DH is best man so has already gone over and I'm having breakfast and about to start making myself look smart.

I moved house yesterday so trying to find bedding, cutlery, clothes and sort out hot water.
Love my new home though.
