Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, after boy cat woke me up for cuddles just after 8. Girl cat magically appeared at the side of me too! We came down at half past ish, and they've now vanished back upstairs. She had a look in the biscuit bowl before going but someone's eaten all the good ones apparently - she walked away from them 🤣.

We're off to buy dd2 some new trainers and earphones today, as well as finish buying dd1's list for when I go visit in 2 weeks. At this rate I'll need a bigger case than I have so that I can actually take my things too!

Unfortunately, the earphone that went through the wash last week doesn't work 😥. They were about 5 years old though so sound quality's maybe improved on newer ones (maybe?).

When we get in, we'll probably just relax/mooch about for a couple of hours before reheating the remains of last night's Chinese takeaway for tea 😋, and getting something out to defrost for tomorrow evening. Dd1 started her maths homework last night, so she'll probably carry on with that.

After that, showers and chill for a couple of hours with my book - dd2 will almost certainly still be up when I go to bed!

just came back from holiday yesterday. Last weekend the weather was truly awful, but the rest of the week was beautiful, if rather (in fact very) chilly. I had a lovely relaxing week, swimming morning and afternoon, culminating in the most fantastic massage and facial before coming home. We actually switched off the one storage heater we had on before we went away and the house was FREEZING when we got back! It was lovely to have a long hot bath to get warm and soak out the chlorine from the pool. Showers didn't manage that!

This morning I have emailed a few work colleagues I had invited to my small retirement party in a few weeks' time. I completely forgot it was the day of my eldest grandson's birthday tea so I have had to change the date of my party.

No plans for today except unpacking and a little bit of laundry. We did most of it while we were away.

Despite another late night ( thank you MAFSUK!), I didn’t go back to sleep after the alarm went off at 6.15. DH brought me a cuppa & I scrolled until around 8.30. Popped to the PO to post a couple of parcels. Returning a Joe Brown dress which sadly wasn’t really my style although the colour (teal) is gorgeous. I have my eye on a stunning velvet jacket in the same shade. Have sold my Winnie the Pooh coin collection so posted that too. Filled the boot with a load of stuff for the charity shop so we have a nice big space in the hall again! Nothing is safe atm! 🤣🤣🤣 Just having my 2nd cuppa with 2 jam & cream sandwich biccies. DH is working til 5 but has come home briefly & will be home at lunchtime too. DD16 ended up having to stay with her GF as the bus to the station was cancelled. Not sure what train she will catch. Done the dishwasher & will wipe down the surfaces in a bit. I’ll photograph a fancy dress costume & some sparkly dresses, shoes & handbags to sell. Sorted the washing & there’s a load in the tumble dryer as it’s just started raining. Such a shame as we’ve had an absolutely stunning week. I will peel some spuds in a bit for steak & ale pies, double cream mash & petitpois for tea. Might watch Strictly tonight although DH has very little interest & DD hasn’t been bothered for years. Have a great Saturday all 🙂🙂

Morning, currently still in bed debating where should I go to get my eyebrows waxed. I’m also wondering if I can be bothered to go to a wedding tonight or not that I’ve been invited to. Dh is going to the day part and I’m suppose to be joining him later but I really cba, I should make the effort because all the other partners/wives will be going but I’m just like urgh!

Just hung out the washing. Now I’m having breakfast. I’m working 12 to 4 in my retail job today.

Not feeling so great today, slept funny and my shoulder tried to dislocate.
Going shopping in a bit to pick up some baking bits to do with ds9 today.
Need to help ds14 with his science homework - he attends a sen school & was down for entry level science but he put forward a very good arugement to the headteacher so theyve put him on GCSE Science!
I feel like I may be resitting my own GCSE Science for the next two years.
Need to figure out what to cook for dinner and will probably watch a film with the kids tonight.

Mil died 2 years ago and dh couldn't face getting rid of her furniture. So it has all been sitting in a slightly dodgy storage unit. Today we are going to the storage unit with a notebook and pen to try to do a list and make a plan for getting rid of it all.

Not the most fun day out ever, I'm actually dreading opening the door for the first time, but I'll be so relieved when it's done.

This is always such a lovely thread.

Today, I'll mostly be putting wardrobes together. Am in the middle of redecorating our bedroom and it's a very slow process as I'm doing all the DIY (which I deeply regret 😁). However, I have persevered and am nearly there. The kids will be glad too as their rooms are cluttered with our boxed up clothing.

Off to dhs late uncles house (yet again) to try and sort through the piles and piles of stuff.
Carloads have already been taken to various charities, but we are now left with either;

1. Utter rubbish (he never threw anything away) or
2. Huge, heavy antique furniture we can't move

I think I'm going to leave dh to it after today...I'm fed up of it. He needs to order a bloody skip!

Good morning all!

We’ve just had bacon and egg butties. Will clean the kitchen shortly then jump in the shower. My tumble dryer is broken so I have the massive airer up in the kitchen and it’s driving me insane. Such an eyesore, it irrationally annoys the shit out of me when it’s up. I’m taking the kids ice skating this afternoon at the request of Ds. Dp is staying home to watch the bloody Ryder Cup. My grandparents are coming over this evening, really looking forward to seeing them. My nan and I will share a bottle of Prosecco and put the world to rights. My grandad will play with the kids and watch the 8pm kick off with dp. We’ll also catch up on any the series’ or films we are watching at the moment and give eachother some recommendations. He has pancreas cancer so I am treasuring every moment with him. Feel truly lucky that my children have had the amount of years they have had with them. They are incredible people and I really hit the jackpot with them.

House is tidy and clean as we had a viewing in the week - feels brilliant not having to rush round on Saturday! Second load of washing about to finish and then I'm going to do the food shop.

This afternoon I am going to get a blanket and read for a bit, then taking the DC to Costa for a nice warm treat drink as they've been under the weather this week. Today feels calm and cosy and I love it!

Well, I'm ready for town...dd2 is not 🙄. So I'm now drinking a cup of coffee & doom scrolling while I wait. First stop will be Greggs I think...I'm hungry! Although maybe I have time to get the toaster out & do myself some cheese spread on toast 🤔.

Got out of bed at 9ish.
Just put laundry on pop it in the dryer soon.
Have a showe and spend the day trying to fix my pc.
But might just end up sitting with the laptop and binge on Westream.
No other chores to do as i did them all yesterday.

Morning everyone!
Early start with both DS’s this morning. DH kindly let me stay in bed for an extra hour and a bit. Up and all dressed and out for breakfast - pancakes and DS1 managed to demolish them as a second breakfast!
Now just off to get DS1 some new shoes as he’s already outgrown the ones we just bought 6weeks ago!
Nothing much else for the rest of the day. I might bake some choc chip cookies with them and then strictly tonight.

I've been to the gym (love a Saturday morning session!) and am now sat having a coffee deciding what to do today...

I might return some trainers I bought yesterday - brown Nike AF 1s for Autumn but I'm not sure if they're too dark now I've got them home 🤔 I'll have to drag DS1 with me if I go though as he bought them with his student discount and has the receipt on his phone.

DH and I are talking about going for a walk/coffee/lunch but I need to get myself sorted if we are as I'm sat here on MN and it's already 11am 😬

Then a couple of drinks later this afternoon and Strictly later although I haven't watched the introductory one from last week so don't know who's on it this year. Anyone decent? Do we think it will be a good one this year?

I had a lie in this morning, it was lovely. Then had a hot chocolate and a look through Vinted to see if there was anything I could wear for sils wedding. Bought something for £4 and now wondering if it has too much black in it, but I am short and overweight so needs must.
Just put some washing on and need to make the beds, then off to do the shopping.
Later on we are all going to my nephews 18th birthday party.

I think we're all supposed to restart our Disney+ to show the corporations the benefits of not having caved to the regime.

Morning all! I’m having my favourite Saturday.

I was out in the pub last night with friends so slept in till 9. Had a shower and parcelled up some stuff I sold on Vinted, then walked to
pilates through an old Victorian cemetery in the sunshine. Now waiting for my
breakfast in my favourite cafe - omelette and avocado with sourdough today, and a strong macchiato. Sat here trying to rebook my Portuguese baking course while I wait, as it got cancelled.

After this I’m off for a massage, will drop the Vinted parcels off at the post lockers and then head to the supermarket to pick up some delicious food for the rest of the weekend. I’m thinking maybe making a roast veg lasagne and some salt chocolate cookies.

Then back home to have a long hot shower and wash my hair, watch a film with my dinner, maybe do some more jigsaw.

Tomorrow I’m going to have a house day as I’m moving soon, so there’s loads to taking to the charity shop, list on Vinted, and pack up. Also need to tackle the washing and do a bit of DIY so that’ll be a day of music and some of the cookies as fuel!

Breakfast, been to my dance class, showered and dressed. Been out to the veg patch to pick some courgettes, which is a daily job at this time of the year.
Just chilling and rehydrating with Saturday Kitchen.
Lunch with the sourdough I bought this morning and then going to see my mum
Strictly and wine this evening. Full fridge but no idea what's for tea yet.

I went to see that today as well, I hope you enjoyed/are enjoying it.

Apart from that I’m in London for the weekend, I’m off to see a friend in a play later then we’re having a very late dinner.

Getting over a heavy cold so mooching around the house today.

DH is at work and both DCs are chilling in their bedrooms.

DS12 will no doubt be playing Fifa as he is obsessed by football. He wasn't selected for his team for the match this morning, he was disappointed but still wore his shirt to support them (he didn't go to the match though😝).

DD13 had a falling out with her best friend yesterday because best friend wanted to do something for the day but DH had already booked tickets to go to a theme park for the day, so best friend had a strop. (It was inset day for them and DH's day off). So DD is nervous about school on Monday!

I'm a teacher and got some school work to do and so laminating so I'll do that in front of the Ryder Cup whilst the washing machine and tumble dryer do their thing!

Oldest DD 9.5 told me this morning her first bras are feeling tight, eeek! It's happening far too quickly😯😱
So we are now off shopping together for some new bras.

Up at 6.45 for a cuppa and the papers before feeding all the animals (horses, chickens, goats and dogs) at 7.15. Gym at 9, client at 11, FIT XR challenges completed by 12 and off for a siesta now.

Another client at 4 (have now changed Calendly setting so no one can book Saturday afternoons!), animals feeds again and tie everything down ahead of hurricane Gabrielle which is due in the early hours of tomorrow morning. DP and I do the big Times crossword on Saturday evening then dinner, TV and bed.

Good afternoon! I’ve ground to a complete halt, absolutely knackered, no particular reason so slightly bemused.
We were out early, as usual, with the dogs, came back and had coffee and toast, hung out two loads of washing and gave the kitchen a good clean and tidy.
I spent 30 minutes splitting up a small aloe type plant that had virtually no soil in the pot, it was solid roots, so now three smaller clumps.
Cooked chips for lunch to go with cold chicken and sweetcorn then sat in my recliner with ZDog2 about 1pm and haven’t moved since!
My oomph has evaporated 🙄, I don’t actually have anything planned except getting the washing in and second dogs walk later.
I might see if DH will make me a cup of tea when he stops snoozing. I’ve lit the wood burner, it’s only 12° outside and I can’t get warm despite a hot water bottle, a tubby pooch on my lap and a blanket……..

Good afternoon! I'm on my own in the house today, and have spent the last couple of hours going through all the pots on the patio, weeding them, chucking out the dead stuff and sweeping up. All this was so I could get to our truly massive rosemary bush which is making a bid for world domination and needs a bit of taming. So now all the pots are on the grass and the patio is full of chopped-off rosemary branches. And the garden waste recycling bin is already full...
