I am incredibly sick of this whataboutism.

No. The right - especially MAGA - has consistently flouted the rule of law and has openly embraced corruption. Politicians on the left have gotten creamed probably in part because they do try to follow the rules and reach across the aisle more often. It is very difficult to achieve any good, or any wins, when the other side cheats and acts in bad faith.

Maybe I’ve had my head in the sand, but I’ve just heard today that the Trump/Zelensky meeting last week descended into another shouting match with Trump throwing maps on the floor. Thankfully not on camera, but it shows the only thing Trump will stick rigidly to is whatever Putin wants.

I suspected as much when Zelenskyy was left to do the press conference alone and Trump described the meeting as “cordial” - he’s nothing if not consistent in taking Putin’s side.
