It’s not exactly how you build trust between the secretary of defence and the troops he’s meant to lead. Can’t imagine many of them will be feeling particularly patriotic and willing to die for the President and nation today.

But then I’m sure it’s not the first time you’ve aired fairly archaic views. Do you agree that women and people of colour have no place in the military?
