By the way, a while ago I was listening to someone talking about religion (specifically Christianity) in the US a while back and they made a point that hadn’t occurred to me before - the founders of the country were religious extremists, so puritanical they couldn’t bear to live in England/Europe. When you think of the influence that will have passed down through generations, subconsciously or otherwise, it starts to make a lot of sense.

I wonder what Kimmel has had to agree to in order to get back on air…

My gut feeling is that this can’t be right, surely? I’m having terrible trouble getting my head around this idea. Although I suppose the American civil war ended less than 200 years ago, so perhaps..
