Amanda Knox

I see there is another Amanda Knox series out on Hulu/Disney. I've always followed the case closely. But I have mixed feelings. At first I thought Amanda was involved in the murder but as time has gone on, there isn't a shred of proof (from a DNA pov) against her. But should she continue to make money from the case? I feel deeply sorry for Meredith's family. As her sister Stephanie said, Meredith is the 'forgotten victim' in this. I understand she did spend 4 years behind bars and wants to be vindicated - and she does help other innocent victims who have been jailed - but I feel it's too much now and that Meredith is being lost in it all. What do you think?

@kkloo perhaps she panicked, knowing she was at the crime scene. A witness heard a scream and heard more than one person running away. It’s my opinion that Amanda returned to the house and was involved in some way or witnessed the murder, probably off her head on drugs. Sollecito was obsessed with knives. And there was discrepancies with Sollecitos story as to who he called first.

DwarfBeans · 01/09/2025 21:18

What a coincidence that statement she made said a black man was responsible etc. just a lucky guess?

SpaceRaccoon · 01/09/2025 21:20

That was her boss, and the one crime she's still guilty of in Italy. She says that the police coerced her into accusing him and I believe her.

Well I'd say it's far more of a lucky guess than whatever it is you're trying to imply it was anyway....

What are you implying exactly? That she's racist now too? Or that she knew a black man did it cos she stumbled across it and may or may not have joined in and then tried to pin it on different black man? or that she saw a black man and didn't know who it was so just guessed it was her boss?

Very interesting article in Telegraph but I don't know how to post without paywall

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/0/twisted-tale-amanda-knox-disney-review/?recomm_id=71bdc48b-0a65-436c-9ec3-547f0ccf195e

Comments very interesting.
I admit I find her incredibly unsympathetic and one of the comments said that she came across as a narcissist and a psychopath.
She showed no empathy at all and her behaviour was definitely bizarre in the aftermath.

I think this whole thing is in incredibly bad taste and feel for Meredith's family having to relive it from Amanda's perspective yet again.

I think she came across as autistic

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 01/09/2025 21:49

@ImGoingUpstairsToTakeOffMyHatsorry about your dad. A bath is like a big warm hug and soothes your nervous system I think it’s a really common desire after a shock.

YourBrickTiger · 02/09/2025 09:48

There is so much weirdness in how she describes things, and she was seen buying bleach and a mop. Maybe she naively thought she'd just be going home that day and wanted to clean up. But even being seen buying underwear and smooching with Rafaelle the day after Meredith died, in front of a shopkeeper and talking about sex is very cold. Maybe she was just trying to distract herself and I'm not saying it makes her a killer. But her behaviour is very very odd.

The last thing I'd be worried about if I lived with multiple other people is a poo being left in the toilet (it is GROSS) but she really focusses on it like it's the most important thing. Taking a shower when there is blood everywhere is more concerning but again, she lived with women and it wasn't a great deal of blood. Even reading to Rafaelle from a 'German Harry Potter' book is weird. She is just very weird and the way she details her sex life on tv makes me want to die. I am Irish and it's just a big no no incase your granny is watching. I really don't understand people who talk about their sex lives knowing their mum and dad could be listening. But again it doesn't make her a killer. I have though always believed she knows SOMETHING.

@YourBrickTiger what are your qualifications to define what counts as 'weird' when your housemate has just been murdered and you've been questioned by the police? Is it professional expertise or lived experience?

Excuse me! I don't need qualifications to think someone is weird. She is weird, by her own definition she is 'quirky and crazy'. You don't need to be so defensive and patronising over someone giving an opinion. Everyone involved thought she was weird. Doesn't make her a murderer and I didn't say it did. Calm down.

Ah, so it's a Dunning Kruger job then? Thanks for clarifying. It always amazes me how many people think it's sensible to pass judgement about human behaviour in very niche circumstances, when they've got absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

And I didn't say you called her a murderer. The things you have speculated about are daft enough all by themselves.

Aren't you a treat? I've followed the case since Meredith died and you'll find the things I've mentioned are ALL mentioned in every book written and every documentary made about it.

A more sensible observer might consider that your bullshitting and ghouling over the behaviour of an MOJ victim is not being a 'treat'. Best not to throw any stones in your glass house.

Also do you think that following the case and consuming lots of media of varying quality means you understand what constitutes normal behaviour in these circumstances? If so, no doubt you can explain precisely why, and show us exactly which TV programmes have allowed you to have an actually informed opinion.

SpaceRaccoon · 02/09/2025 14:28

Seriously how is it weird to go and buy underwear when your home is a crime scene and you need fresh pants?
Imagine the press furore if she'd been spotted going commando.

Your whole post comes across as odd.
Making a big deal out of things which no doubt you have already heard the explanation of many times, such as buying underwear when you know well she needed some.

It's odd that you think because you wouldn't be worried about poo in the toilet that it's odd that she made a big deal out of it. Do you not understand that people aren't all the same? It's odd that you don't. Plus, again like the other stuff she has explained that.

She is just very weird and the way she details her sex life on tv makes me want to die. I am Irish and it's just a big no no incase your granny is watching

This is a you issue. I'm Irish too, plenty of people are open about sex, even with family, but either way her sex life is part of the story, she's not just bringing it up for the fun of it.

She talks about it because it was part of the story. She had to mention it because it was part of what she was doing with Raffaele the night of the murder. She was lied to and told she had HIV and told to make a list of everyone she slept with to contact them, which is why that list became public, which again surely you know....

She was painted like some orgy obsessed sex maniac.
Her actual sex life by contrast was normal like many girls her age.
I'd say her parents/grandparents don't actually give a fuck if she mentions her sex life at this point given what's been said about her, and again as I said it's part of the story.

It's not like she was falsely imprisoned for something like bank fraud and then comes out talking about her sex life which didn't form any part of the story 😂

I have though always believed she knows SOMETHING.

Maybe you'd get on with the prosecutor then who was definitely very odd. He does like Amanda now and they have a friendship. Despite that (maybe to save face) he still holds onto saying that she's not telling the truth, but says that it's not because she's a liar, it's because she doesn't remember 😅

At least he has a reason why he might still believe that, he was convinced from the very start and involved in the whole process and doesn't want to completely lose face so despite the fact they've now been exonerated, and they're now friends he will still say 'she just doesn't remember'.

Far more odd that you still hold onto it, using stupid things like the fact she bought underwear and 'smooched' her boyfriend.

Goingncforthisone · 21/08/2025 19:28

Not straddling and kissing your boyfriend in the interview room, or doing cartwheels, just moments after you find out about the horrific murder of your friend, would be a good start.

Bravo. Both of them were standing outside what I recall as a police or a court building and that Solecito and her started to kiss really really slowly with their eyes open, she was looking at the people opposite. It was so weird that my young self was sure she was as guilty as hell, and so was him. I haven´t changed my opinion all these years later. There was something very wrong with them which I can´t put my finger on.

Luckily that video is still out there, and it just shows them having some pecks while they looked concerned. There's nothing weird about it at all 'kissing really slowly with their eyes open' wtf, you make it sound like they were very slowly french kissing while Amanda was looking at other people 😂

SpaceRaccoon · 02/09/2025 16:57

I remember the video. They look scared and worried, as you would, and kiss each other (not snog) in a way that looks like seeking comfort.
If only she'd had the foresight to have media training 🙄

DwarfBeans · 02/09/2025 18:31

I’ve followed the case from the start. There are too many discrepancies in Knox’s account. And the way her fans adore her is sickening. Disney, Monica Lewinsky and Amanda Knox are all in it for the money. I wished they would fuck off and leave the Kercher family in peace.

If that's your memory, then it's utter nonsense.

And these are the people on juries. I despair.

Knox’s Ghouls.

It's alright for you to follow it from the start though, what does that make you? just a murder ghoul? crime ghoul?

People who defend her aren't 'fans' or people who 'adore' her as you said, they're just defending a woman who has been exonerated and who clearly didn't do it.

What were you implying earlier when you said it was coincidence that she named a black man? you didn't answer the question.

I hope someone urgently tells the Court of Cassation they overlooked these when they found her definitively innocent in 2015! Daft of them, really.
