Massive Euromillions jackpot. What would you buy?

Bikergran · 16/08/2025 19:32

So the next Euromillions jackpot is apparently going to be over 200 million pounds. Apart from the predictably boring stuff like making all your family financially secure, and charitable donations, what utterly mad thing would you buy if you won? I quite fancy this little "flat in town" - with staff, obviously. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/157474112#/?channel=RES_BUY

Check out this 5 bedroom apartment for sale on Rightmove

5 bedroom apartment for sale in 'The Astor', Millbank SW1, SW1P for £24,000,000. Marketed by Invest and Co, London

I’d buy a home by the sea, get new cars. Ensure family were taken care of and pay off friends mortgages, new cars all round.
Give a lot to animal charities

Buy an island? 😂

BubblyBath178 · 16/08/2025 19:41

Not sure about a ‘thing’. However, what I’d love is my own spa at home. It would basically be like any high end spa, but in my house, with a pool/hot tub etc. There would be full time staff there on 6 figure salaries, working 7 days a week (office hours unless required for soirées where my friends could also have treatments) There would obviously be enough staff so that each person only has to do a regular 40 hour week though.

Anyway, the people there would be on call for massages/facials/hairstyling/eyebrows. Just about anything really.

Not that I’ve thought about it much 😂

Needmorelego · 16/08/2025 19:44

A house is the obvious one but then I would pay for intensive driving lessons and buy a campervan and explore the UK.

Dippythedino · 16/08/2025 19:44

Tell my boss to stick the job where the sun doesn't shine and set up a rival firm just to piss her off. I'd do a much better job of running the organisation then the current shit show of senior managers.

TomatoSandwiches · 16/08/2025 19:45

Honestly, I know I sound like a smary twat but I'd give so much away, wouldn't you feel paranoid with that much?

ivegotthisyeah · 16/08/2025 19:46

I would have a full time beautician on site also for massages, facials and anything I needed doing and a hair dresser. These things are a treat for me right now

Ilfurfante · 16/08/2025 19:46

I would pay for our local school to build a sports centre.

Fordian · 16/08/2025 19:47

Freeze in terror of the implications. That’s what I’d do.

FatherFrosty · 16/08/2025 19:47

Oh my!!!

imagine the monthly charges for that place.
incredible location!

theres a house locally I’d have bought (it was only £800k) it would have been perfect for me and my family. Unfortunately the sold sign has just gone up. So that ones out.

I’d tell people I’d won the lottery but a much lower amount, I’d buy a nice house but not obscene. I’d give a friend half a mil to buy a house.
buy dh his dream car.
throw some money at a few charities and then pause and have a think what I want to do. Everyone needs a purpose and a job so id want to make sure we all still had a reason to get up and be productive in life.

This, is a fantastic idea!!!

cupfinalchaos · 16/08/2025 19:48

Animal charities.. worldwide cat spaying programme.. I’d pay off my family’s mortgages and get a superyacht sleeping 12 + 20 crew to sail round the world with dh, our family & friends would take it in turn to join us.

LittleCarrot12 · 16/08/2025 19:49

My first think would be a trip to the supermarket and buy shit loads of food. I’d allow my kids the branded sweets they desperately want as their friends have them.
Honestly, after been so to the bone for so kind I’d struggle to spend it. I’m sure I’d come around eventually!! Maybe Disney for the kids .
Can’t afford a ticket so really doesn’t matter

DorothyStorm · 16/08/2025 19:49

Ive already saved the 15 bedroomed Victorian Shooting lodge that I want on rightmove.

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 16/08/2025 19:50

I’m buying my own theatre, and casting myself in everything. 😆

nocoolnamesleft · 16/08/2025 20:07

Endowment for my local hospital which will be immediately revoked if they close the paediatric or consultant led obstetric services.

AmandaHoldensLips · 16/08/2025 20:14

Sorry but that apartment is an abomination.

Britalian · 16/08/2025 20:24

A personal chef Mon-Fri (who cooks delicious but healthy meals and comes up with all the ideas, based on ingredients I have said I like). Maybe sometimes just do all the food shopping and prep, but leave me to do the actual cooking, which I do sometimes enjoy.
Eat out or takeaways at the weekend!

Ooo Ill have this and also made-to-measure shoes. Housekeeper, cleaner, gardener, nanny.

Ollybob · 16/08/2025 20:54

Hmm, after the usual paying off debts/helping family and getting a newer car I'd move out - only because it's a HA and people round here are in desperate need.
Or if at all possible I'd rent it to a friend of mine who's trying to escape an abusive relationship with his daughter.
Then I'd travel the UK and a little beyond in a camper or hotels visiting cafes and shops with secret tips, would make a lot of people's days I suspect to be gifted a random cash gift.
Once I'd done that for a year or so I'd set up a campsite in a nice area and run that until retirement or beyond with my sister (had this discussion a few times tbh!)

FatherFrosty · 16/08/2025 20:56

Did anyone watch at home with the braithwaits. It’s being rerun at the moment.

Gliblet · 16/08/2025 21:11

Pay off debts
Pay debts for close family and friends
Buy several properties to make sure everyone we loved could live rent/mortgage free
Scholarship funds for son, nieces, nephews
Set up funded research scholarships for pancreatic cancer, MS, and alzheimers research
Endowments for local museums to improve staff facilities
Donations to local community charities, veterans support, and charities supporting farmers to diversify
Look into setting up my dad's dream charity - mutual/shared rehab for offenders and rescue animals
Fund some archaeological digs and be one of those irritating donors who wants to join in and generally get in the way 😁

tartyflette · 16/08/2025 21:15

An island.
With either a gin palace yacht and a boat dock or an airstrip...

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 16/08/2025 21:15

Ooh a house on Princelet Street in Spitalfields. A live-in housekeeper. A beautiful classic car.

Tarkan · 16/08/2025 21:22

The last time it was that high DH and I made some fun plans. Nice house with well paid cleaners and a private chef, nice cars (I don’t drive and tbh it’s probably best I don’t learn so a fun car for DH to drive and a nice luxury one with a driver for me). Enough land so we can have some animals, we were thinking a horse stables and some alpacas to begin with. DH said I wasn’t allowed to call one of them Al Pacacino though. Landscaped gardens I can roam through like I’m living in a romance novel. I think I said I wanted a hedge maze too. Oh and buying or at least investing in some sports teams locally as well as some businesses that would be great to have in our area.

Needless to say I don’t think 200m would last very long for us. 🙈🤣

Cece92 · 16/08/2025 21:23

I’d buy a nice 5 bed house, with an office cause I’d probably still work lol! I’d want a laundry room and open plan kitchen with a dining table that would be lovely. Me and my partner brand new cars each. I’d definitely give my mum dad and sister money and have a fair amount out away for my DD and my parents 2 kids too. I’d buy a holiday home abroad somewhere hot too. Not to far away but enough for it to be a holiday. I’d love to travel a bit too and I’d help any animal shelters/charities out or set up my own. Make sure my gran & grandad are well looked after in their final years too. My partner would have it spent in like 5 mins on like 20 un necessary cars so let’s hope it’s me that wins it xx
