Desperately seeking that Peace Prize.
May have to settle for the Hero of the Russian Federation award. Bigly sad.

So do I, certainly sums it up for Trump!

Anyone know if we can expect to see his orangeness in public today? Seeing reports of a 800% spike in the Pentagon Pizza Indicator (yes that’s a real thing) over the weekend. Essentially loads of pizzas being ordered which indicates lots of civil servants etc working overtime.

PerkingFaintly · 01/09/2025 12:59

Do I remember aright that they brought a lot of the catering in-house at the White House to avoid pizza monitoring intelligence, after the occasion prior to one of the Gulf Wars?

Still an issue at the Pentagon, then?Grin

I suppose it saves the security staff from x-raying all the pizza individually..?🍕

DH now wants 🍕 tonight. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I vaguely recall that but think it was during Obama's tenure when they took out bin Laden.

PerkingFaintly · 01/09/2025 14:17

Ah that's ringing a bell.

RafaistheKingofClay · 01/09/2025 14:22

I guess that if they need someone to tweet as Trump if they are going to pretend all is well, the Newsom should be their first call.

Fellow posters, if you haven't already, it's time to fix your energy deal. The fallout from Trump's tariffs.

India was looking into thorium nuclear power ... now would be a good time to reveal they had cracked it.

logicisall · 01/09/2025 15:09

@SerendipityJane , I had not heard about thorium nuclear reactors before your post. After reading a wiki article on it, both China (with Brazil in it's back pocket) and India are poised to benefit from their current investment in research first. The league table for world's largest economies could be very interesting in the future.

In case anyone else is interested. I need to have a wee chat with my MSP.

Edited

Of course the big "drawback" is that it can't produce bomb material.

An India and China that are largely totally self sufficient in energy - using thorium nuclear for very cheap electricity, and taking advantage of a buyers market in oil for the rest isn't science fiction.

Of course with depressing predictability, the UK was a world leader in thorium research (hence Indias familiarity with it) until the US intervened and made sure we kept to "the script".

You could have had an entire fleet of thorium reactors providing 24/7 electricity for free if we'd avoided the solar and wind scamsters that infected the market very early on.

A No Bell Beast Prize is what you get when a junior member of a Swiss herd of cattle, which doesn't have one of those distinctive bells round its neck, is given an award for its excellent conformation, isn't it?

A cow would be a more worthy recipient of the Nobel prize than his Trumpness.
