Car seat threads. I don’t have children and when I drive friends’ kids around they bring their own car seats. But I find I read the threads which might as well be in Ancient Greek. Isofix! 360! Rear facing! Fascinating, mysterious stuff. I don’t know why I like them so much 😂

Pretty much all of them tbh. But I do find it socially interesting to see what other people think and do.

MeringueOutang · 12/08/2025 22:09

Threads about London. I love reading about London.
I lurk sometimes on the elderly parents forum. My parents both died suddenly in their early 50s. I think I do it because I wonder what life would have been like for them if they were still here.
Threads about dating dramas. I've never really dated, I met my future DH at uni and we've been together ever since.
Threads about large families. I can't have one for medical reasons but I love reading about other people's.

ShowOfHands · 12/08/2025 22:11

I love threads like "weirdest thing which happened to you on a date". I've never dated, met dh at sixth form and never looked back.

Bathingforest · 12/08/2025 22:13

All of them. I am culturally different, all my set ups have to be very moral, traditional and solid. I taught my daughters to live this way also. But it is nice to practice some English and have some fun and give once in a while your opinion. We are all unique and the UK is very international place

blackheartsgirl · 12/08/2025 22:23

Any thread with elderly parents, extended families, brothers sisters, cousins, dhs. Every single one of my family bar my kids and an estranged brother are dead.

<shrug> it’s the same in real life. I just can’t relate to people when they bang on about their happy or not so happy families. I don’t begrudge them, am slightly envious in fact.

I do, however enjoy the weird and wonderful threads, the spooky threads, art and crafts threads and loads of other things I can’t think of off the top of my head.

brutali · 12/08/2025 22:26

Threads about nannies or au pairs. Never had one, I'm just intrigued by the whole thing! Private schooling for the same reason.

saveforthat · 12/08/2025 22:27

Baby names.

bluechameleon · 12/08/2025 22:34

I like the ones about horses (The Tack Room I think it's called?). I don't have a horse, have only ever ridden twice (with minimal success) at age 9 and 20, and have no interest in horses. But for some reason I always click on them.

Rhubarblin · 12/08/2025 22:35

Step parenting threads, really interesting to read but not something I would ever choose to be, personally. No man would ever be worth the stress of a blended family, for me.

MrsSkylerWhite · 12/08/2025 22:36

Style and beauty. I’m a slob 😁

Redshoeblueshoe · 12/08/2025 22:38

I was just about to say that too, Style and Beauty - I am not interested in make up, or fashion.

I was about to say this! I click on the links and enjoy looking at the kinds of clothes and shoes other people like, but I spend my days in jeans, Tshirts, trainers or my work uniform. I only buy new clothes when mine are looking too old or my shoes are falling apart.

CalliopePlantain · 12/08/2025 22:41

Step parenting for me too.

also a sucker for an ‘is this a line?’ Thread

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 12/08/2025 22:41

Competitive London schools. A baffling world!

Fetchthevet · 12/08/2025 22:42

I read the Investment threads too. Even though I have £0 to invest.

SpottyAardvark · 12/08/2025 22:47

Threads about religion. I’m a complete atheist. and have been since I was 15, but I was brought up as a catholic and had to do the whole confession / communion / confirmation / catholic schools thing.

I still find religion oddly fascinating, though. In the same way an anthropologist might find the culture & behaviour of tribal people in remote jungles. I’m still trying to understand why intelligent people believe ridiculous superstitious nonsense, I suppose.

JamDisaster · 12/08/2025 22:52

Online dating. For someone who got married years before OLD was a thing and has never been on an online date, I have some VERY developed opinions on how to do it 😭

I only ever wear my 'mam clothes' same 2 outfits 😂

PermanentTemporary · 12/08/2025 23:03

So many… have been here over 21 years so I roam the hills of opinion like an old chap in a flat cap pointing at distant cloud formations with a stick. ‘Storm brewing over thar’

Love reading school choice threads, step parenting dramas, vegan dinners (I suppose those could theoretically be useful) style and beauty, holidays with a budget over £10k etc etc

Ivesaidenough · 13/08/2025 00:08

Thought it was just me that only wore two @Wynter25 😆

Yes! I’m another lurker on The Tack Room, and I don’t think I’ve been on a horse since the early 1990s. As a cradle Catholic atheist, I’m also fascinated by threads about C of E ordination.

mathanxiety · 13/08/2025 00:39

AI holidays, hen and destination wedding threads, most of style and beauty, horses, choice of prep schools and the 11+...

DramaAlpaca · 13/08/2025 00:59

Yes! The horsey ones! I love The Tack Room.

The dating threads, they fascinate and horrify me in equal measure.

Boarding schools, an insight into an alien world.

Step-parenting. If you take this on, you're a braver woman than me.

Chicken Keepers - yes, really. One day I'd love to have a few chickens.

Baby Names - my guilty pleasure as I love names and I have to enjoy it on here, as R**t banned me from a names board 😅

So many, really. I love an insight into other people's worlds.

Have actually just posted on this board, for the first time in 25 years, I think.

Begrudgingly. But I did 🤣
