this is mine for the day

it was previously owned by Ian Fleming and Noel Coward

realistically I probably wouldn’t buy a property right on the beach, but for fantasy purposes I’d take it.

I’ve admired that house for years. Has a lovely pub within walking distance. If only ……

MounjaroMounjaro · 07/08/2025 14:50

I really like it but I wouldn't want to live right on the beach like that! It must have been a holiday home for them, mustn't it?

Probably, most artists from that era had a second home. It’s so lovely though

I wouldn’t want a house that close to chalk cliffs

It’s the sort of house I’d expect to see as an Omaze prize

BlueyNeedsToFuckOff · 07/08/2025 15:11

This would be mine - think I’d need the Euromillions rather than the normal lottery though!

Oh wow, that’s one of those roads you drive down imagining the lives of people behind the walls. It’s beautiful, my dog however would definitely prefer the beach one and not give two woofs about the possibility of the house being washed away or squished by the cliffs falling down.

That’s near me! I’d go for that if I had 30k a month for the repayments.

squashyhat · 07/08/2025 15:24

It's lovely but there are much nicer ones on the cliffs behind with views over to France. I wouldn't want to be that close to the very popular pub either.

I think maybe this one, there are a couple of bigger pricier house for sale there but this one has a lovely cosy feel and amazing views. I think I could move straight in.

Oh that’s lovely, definitely the right sized, Mandalay without the huge property upkeep bills.

If you wanted to go all out Euromillions/Footballers Wives tacky excess, there's this for £32,000,000. It's been on the market forever. It's a bit Bond Villain's lair.

Have fancied this one for years for the views and blend of modern and historic. Would mean DS wouldn’t need to change school etc.

No the swimming pool is just the wrong shape, it would never do - just kidding I’m off to shop for my long haired white cat and diamond necklace.

There seems to be virtually no kitchen. Certainly can't see one in the photos and I looked twice. Hardly any bedroom pics either. Wonder who they are actually marketing this to?

Definitely prefer the grand designs mini castle.

My head is spinning at all the staff you would need for the upkeep. But then again, if you're a Bond villain you probably already have them!

Ooh, that's lovely. Hope they'd leave the green bath.

If you go in the ehouse viewing thingy
https://vt.ehouse.co.uk/Vp3GmX2pz4z

You'll see lots of people coming your way. It'd feel busier than I'd like.
And how high does the sea come up?

This'll do - look at the landscape! Would imagine it's a bit nippy in winter though.

The turn off for that house is on a blind corner of a very fast and busy road. It would be a no from me.

However, it is south facing over the Cairngorms, in the Spey valley, so location wise is utterly brilliant from my perspective. Cold winters = coorie in and dress warm.
