Help. Have I actually won some money on online bingo?

I was housebound for a couple of weeks due to illness. I saw an ad for online bingo. I'm not a gambler but I gave it a go out of boredom. I enjoyed it and had a couple of small wins over a few weeks. I logged back in today and had some money left so played a few games and bought tickets to an event.
I didn't fill any lines but I got a notice to say I won several hundred pounds in a runner up event.
I can't say I paid much attention to the rules.
The money is there now in my account.
I never win anything. Could it be a mistake?
Does anyone play online bingo?
Help!

If it’s in your account it sounds like you’ve won!

Psychicpineapple · 04/08/2025 20:24

It's in my bingo account. It says I can withdraw it. Why am I so nervous?
I can't help thinking it's an error.

If it's there in your bingo account available to withdraw then it's yours!
Go for it, enjoy it and buy something lovely for yourself!

Although I'm not a gambler myself I work in a profession where occasionally this comes up in conversation. I believe it's more likely that newbies to the websites win things ..... it's how they start to entice you in!

Enjoy it but don't gamble it again now!

Not sure why you decided to adopt such a patronising tone @ChristPleaseJustStop .
I explained above that I seem to have won it in an event rather than by getting the numbers called in a specific game.
I'm new to online bingo.
I just thought maybe these sort of sites had form for being glitchy.

Withdraw it and then delete your account and don’t get tempted to gamble more. Online gambling can be set so you win in the first week but then you lose and lose and lose more.

download free games like candy crush where you win points instead of throwing away cash on gambling

AMurderofMurderingCrows · 04/08/2025 20:49

Congrats and ignore the horrid folks.

Withdraw that money and treat yourself if you can ❤️

MummytoE · 04/08/2025 20:49

Congratulations on the win op. unfortunately they don't come to the door with a giant cheque and z list celeb to present your winnings..Any plans on what you might spend the money on xx

slightlydistrac · 04/08/2025 20:56

Withdraw the money and close your account.

The whole reason they have let you win early on is to entice you in, and play more, with the winnings they just gave you. Hey presto, you lose most of it and then Wow! You win again, around the same as your original winnings plus a bit more, and so you bet again. And again. By that time you are hooked.

Jesus. Try reading that back and ask yourself do you really want to be such a patronising twat?

KitsyWitsy · 04/08/2025 21:26

Withdraw it and never play online bingo again. It’s insidious. You’ll lose the money and more if you don’t. Quit now while you’re up.

BCBird · 04/08/2025 21:30

Congratulations OP. Withdraw the money and enjoy. Like people have said, don't bother with the site and play with your winnings. I remember winning 200 pounds on an online national lottery scratchcard- couldn't believe it😆

HelloHattie · 04/08/2025 21:50

Well done! Enjoy it.

ExtraOnions · 04/08/2025 21:54

As a former online gambling addict … take the money, delete the account, and never go back.
They will try to draw you in … it’s insidious

MouldyCandy · 04/08/2025 22:25

Ditto all the posts above. New players win prizes to tempt you to play again. Withdraw the money and delete your account.

Wishitsnows · 04/08/2025 22:29

Congratulations. What are you going to spend the win on? Don’t buy any more tickets though!

Psychicpineapple · 04/08/2025 22:30

I've done the transfer. I'm just waiting for the money to go through and then I'm deleting the app. I wasn't very invested and anyway I'm back to work this week so won't have time for it.
It's crazy. I don't think I've ever won more than £5 in my life before and now £800. I only lodged £20 initially.

Thanks everyone.

Really? Does being this condescending actually make you feel good?

Op, enjoy your winnings.

healthybychristmas · 04/08/2025 23:10

Enjoy your winnings but delete your account now! They will be hoping you gamble the lot - and more. What do you plan to spend it on?

Honestly if you don't understand the online gambling you're doing, you really ought to stop. It's addictive and gambling can ruin lives.

Thanks for claiming that I was being "patronising", though! What actually happened is that you asked a question, I gave you the explanation and answer. I had the good grace to congratulate you on your win, I don't see what more you could want from me, so to claim that I'm patronising you is a bit odd.

Genuinely, enjoy your money!

Psychicpineapple · 05/08/2025 00:01

I'm not sure what question you thought you answered by telling me a that someone dressed as a bingo caller wasn't going to turn up at my door and present me with my money.
I was shocked and excited.
I did not win the money in the normal bingo game I was playing. It was a bonus draw - I wasn't aware it was happening so when money appeared in my account I thought it might be a glitch and wasn't sure about withdrawing it.
Thank you for your concern and your congratulations.
Maybe work on the delivery though.
Have a good night.

Hi was this with Ladbrokes by any chance ?
I played bingo first win was £1400 pound which I withdrew straight away and kept the money I deposited still in and carried on playing.
Then about 20 mins after I got a message come across the screen you have won £2000 sharers bonus out of the jackpot. And then next game I won £140 on a full house. When I went to withdraw the second lot of funds it said it was in review which it normally does after 3 hours I went to check to see if it was processed and my account was shut down, I contacted customer services which their reply was I was paid out in error.
and their reviewing the matter.
