I see my MP makes an appearance on that screenshot frothing about “swarms” of illegal immigrants. Guess what? This is probably one of the whitest, most middle class constituencies in the country, hence his Tory win last year.

That is a really interesting result.

So, there have been three recent Welsh by-elections in deprived areas. Two of which are mostly white (Baglan and Llanrumney), one of which is more diverse (Grangetown).

Reform has failed to win any of them.

Long may it continue.

It gives me hope that Wales will not fall for Reform next year.

it is your MP that the comments are aimed at Blossoms. As I say I am not his biggest fan but nobody should have to put up with this kind of rubbish… although I do get that his comments re asylum seekers are truly awful and equally hurtful to others. You would think it would make him think about his own narrative.

Even better, Reform were 4th with 13% and about 67% of the vote was split between the progressives, Greens, Labour and Plaid.

must admit I’m feeling very low at the moment MN starting to feel like a swamp & my oldest friend of over forty years has started spamming me with awful stuff about asylum seekers/spouting two tier Keir/outrage at Lucy Connolly etc etc her latest one was about the “Sanctuary School” supposedly encouraging children to write love letters, I tried directing her to a BBC report & the organisation website to no avail im at a loss as to what to do.

The Tories have put out this list of all the great things asylum seekers get including...

Ofcourse very easy to fact check all these claims but that won't be happening and it is out there now.

There are a couple of Tory councillors local to me that also post his rubbish. One in particular is a whopper of a Trump fan, doesn’t believe in climate change and thinks all vaccines are lethal! oh and his most posted include the words WEF and great replacement.
I secretly think Andrew Bridgen may be his hero!

I came to post that result! It’s very close to me. I’d have said Labour were pretty solid there. It’s in my Westminster and Senedd constituency boundaries statue cries, so I have some thinking and watching to do before next casting my vote…
I wouldn’t necessarily expect Plaid to do well there, but Green is a surprise too.

It is hard not to feel down. Although I am ridiculed for saying it by some, 70% of the electorate don't support Reform. We need to remember that.

It is sad about your friend. One of mine is doing similar. It seems as though people end up "radicalised" by spending hours reading hateful shit and lies on the Internet.

It’s increasing I think. A friend of mine just had to distance herself from an old uni friend who started banging on about boats endlessly. What’s a bit worrying is that I think these people thought like that before, just now they feel emboldened to say it out loud.

Sad, but probably true.
