Venous insufficiency is a bit more than varicose veins. My mum has it. Presumably he should now be on a low salt diet, using compression stockings and sitting with raised feet regularly (or like my mum completely refusing to acknowledge any problems so doing nothing, but she at least has the excuse of Alzheimer's). Increases the risk of falls.

I saw the pictures of his cankles feet on social media last night and wondered when they’d get round to admitting something was up. Lots of suspected diagnoses of congestive heart failure from the masses, which given his age and diet wouldn’t be a huge leap.
