Just that. Really fancy some but it’s three days out of date. Pack is unopened

Nope

anon2022anon · 12/07/2025 09:30

Yes, unless it smells manky. Bacon has that much salt in it'll be fine for a while after.

alexalisten · 12/07/2025 09:31

Nope not worth it nip to a local shop and get some or get it delivered

Picklechicken · 12/07/2025 09:31

Nope. But then I’m really fussy about these things because I have an autoimmune issue which means getting sick would mean a hospital trip so I’m ultra cautious.

heldinadream · 12/07/2025 09:32

Unopened pack, kept in fridge, if it smells OK on opening, yes. Once opened eat it all quickly.
If you can't manage it I'll come round for bacon and eggs and fried bread and... 😋

cheesycheesy · 12/07/2025 09:32

Yes unless it’s smelly/slimy

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 12/07/2025 09:32

I would, definitely.

StrawberryCranberry · 12/07/2025 09:32

Yes

Chemenger · 12/07/2025 09:33

Yes

Jennyathemall · 12/07/2025 09:33

Yes of course

Bigearringsbigsmile · 12/07/2025 09:33

Yes of course

HostaCentral · 12/07/2025 09:33

Still sealed, yes! Bacon has really long dates anyway, it's not going to go off in three days after a month long date.

CozyCoupe · 12/07/2025 09:33

Yes probably, assuming it smells OK.

arethereanyleftatall · 12/07/2025 09:33

Yes, unless it smells.

CinnamonBuns67 · 12/07/2025 09:35

Absolutely not. It's got a use by for a reason, it's not a best before date.

Jk987 · 12/07/2025 09:35

Yes

NeverDropYourMooncup · 12/07/2025 09:40

If it's sealed, has been securely in the fridge since purchase and smells perfect, yes, I would. Bacon is a method for preserving pork so that it can be kept for long periods without spoiling - even without refrigeration.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 12/07/2025 09:41

Yes. Bacon is full of preservatives and it keeps for ages. Many a time I've opened a pack, used a couple of slices and left the rest of the pack for a while. If it smells okay and it's been in the fridge, it's fine.

Anotherhotone · 12/07/2025 09:42

No personally not.

Strollingby · 12/07/2025 09:43

Yes, I would eat if it looked and smelled ok.
I had an open packet in the fridge yesterday with a date of 21 June. We only didn't eat it because it had grown fur...
(Am aware my housekeeping standards are below par but fridge is stuffed with allotment produce and bacon got to the back.)

twobabiesandapup · 12/07/2025 09:44

I would, and have… a lot of times 😂

OliveHenry · 12/07/2025 09:44

Yes I would, if it smells ok.

I'd probably give a 9th June packet a go too, on the same proviso!

Catingle · 12/07/2025 09:45

Yes this!

Oblomov25 · 12/07/2025 09:45

I eat things post sell by, best before dates, often.

TheFlis · 12/07/2025 09:45

I wouldn’t think twice, it will be fine.
