"existing staff have been unable to bring about change"

I would like to know the nature of the proposals the poor council staff have had to bat back.

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2025 09:33

Flags probably

This is how I see it:
Councillor has an IDEA
Councillor tells staff to MAKE IT WORK
Staff say IT WON'T WORK because
Councillor says GET NEW STAFF

And this is what happens when you have inexperienced politicians trying to run councils. Hopefully the electorate will take heed of this as a warning!

Unfortunately they probably won't.

'Hamstrung by existing bureaucracies' is what NF told LK this morning.
She didn't ask much more.

Has he just discovered that councils have statutory responsibilities?

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2025 13:39

I don't think he has visited Clacton much

Not to do any MP's surgeries anyway.

MsJinks · 20/07/2025 14:17

And ‘beaurocracy’ would (hopefully not will) be the excuse if in government- pesky international laws, annoying U.K. laws, expectations certain economic responsibilities are upheld, previous governments passing laws etc etc and ad infinitum.
I don’t think frogface is that fussed if his ‘policies’ are enacted or not tbh - he pretends to be today because he hopes to get a shot at winning a GE. I’m not sure he has any particular views or values (and definitely no real workable policies) apart from probably being rather racist, the rest of the stuff he runs with are just something to shout about and rabble rouse, and grift on the back of - or maybe get paid for by some paymaster.
I think he finds daily grind quite boring and will never apply himself to it - I think he knows this too actually- so I’m not sure what he’d do if he was in danger of becoming PM (praying he never has to find out btw)

It's a retread of the bollocks over Brexit.

"The nasty universe won't do what we want it to do. It must be <insert slogan du jour>"

Never underestimate the power you can harness in a base who having fallen for it hook line and sinker then need a justification for why they weren't wrong. Luckily for the grifters there is always another fall guy for the thick. Covid. Russia. Taylor Swift.

Just a different version of Boris Johnson really.

LlynTegid · 20/07/2025 17:06

Frogs are insulted by the comparison to Mr Farage. They are a bit like Mr Johnson in the number of offspring though.

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2025 20:40

Another day of 'protests' outside a hotel for asylum seekers in Epping, Essex

Ukip and Reform are asking people not to be violent so they can't be accused of being far right, just 'worried'

It's almost as if they are celebrating the anniversary of the horrific deaths of three girls. These so called protests are disgraceful.

DuncinToffee · 20/07/2025 21:29

From the Times

"European youngsters will be able to move to the UK for more than a year under a youth mobility scheme, the minister in charge of Britain’s relationship with the EU has indicated."

Yes, actually very like Johnson - I can’t abide Johnson, and his shit show in public jobs. But Farage gives me a physical revulsion every time I see or hear him, so much more so than Johnson. Absolutely repulsive above all others though not sure why he gets that added reaction from me considering the range of dreadful actors I’ve seen over my decades.
And yeah, I like frogs, I must think of another name - that I can use! - can hardly bear to use his real one as it reminds me of him too much 🤢

MsJinks · 20/07/2025 21:59

Disgusting protesting about and directly at humans - go protest at Downing Street, or a town hall, if you absolutely must be both ignorant of facts and any humanity.

You could be right. I hope they haven't got plans for the actual anniversary (29th?). I wouldn't put it past them to do do something awful.

The protests are allegedly due to an Ethiopian refugee being charged with x3 sexual assaults - don't know if he lived at the hotel - he's not there now as on remand

Anniversary protests would be truly awful

I read about that case it is absolutely appalling. These thugs using it as an excuse is disgusting.

I hope then that I am wrong about the 29th. Mind you, going by some of the photos half of them look too pissed up to even know what day, let alone date it is.

Tice tweeted in support of the protests.
