Bloody woke church wardens and pensioners living on that street for decades.

BIossomtoes · 18/07/2025 18:30

You’d have thought some of the people who wrote letters of complaint to her would have backed her up, wouldn’t you?

Notonthestairs · 18/07/2025 18:31

Strikes me that Reform have calculated that they don’t need Braverman whilst Pochin is willing to say any old rubbish on their behalf.

I bet they do too. It appears at least one of them has a dog. Great swathes of MN would hate them.

Fascinating BBC story about Reform MP Sarah Pochin saying a local street is blighted by immigrations living in shared accommodation, only for locals to suggest this is bollocks.

Political lesson: take on church wardens and sensible pensioners at your peril.

She won by 6 votes, yet seemingly is lording it over everyone. Who does she think she is?

Is obviously the vibes from the link. And they're right x

My agrees are now 😂

BIossomtoes · 18/07/2025 19:22

Knocked back into third place with the Greens second. Hopefully it’s the start of a trend.

Raglan (Neath Port Talbot) local by-election last night also saw Reform come third. It was a Labour hold rather than a Reform defeat, but still a little ray of hope.

BestIsWest · 18/07/2025 23:10

It’s Baglan not Raglan. That’s a good result for Labour given the situation with the Margam steelworks. I don’t know anything about about the independent candidate who came second though and what impact she would have had on the Reform vote.

ilovesooty · 19/07/2025 02:10

Apparently the Reform candidate was accused of dirty tricks during the campaign, and he went on holiday before the result!

PandoraSocks · 19/07/2025 10:24

Yes, Baglan, sorry for typo.

@ilovesooty even with the Reform candidate shenanigans, Reform got 23% of the vote. If they won a similar share of the vote here in Wales next year, it would be enough to get them a good number of seats next year under our PR system. But not enough for a majority, thank God.

I find it mildly amusing that the promise of Reform versus the reality of Reform appears to be a grim reflection of the promises of Brexit versus the reality of Brexit.

I do wonder if a few news outlets are going to end up a bit ouef-sur-visage ?

In other news, Donald Trump is suing Rupert Murdoch. What a shame.

Yusuf could be in trouble again, his x account liked an anti semitic post. Accidently done by a member of his team

SureHmm

eta: Trump suing Murdoch is amusing.

A big boy did it and ran away.

I look forward to a court case that decides if it's your name on the account, it's you that is responsible. Much as if you lend your car to someone who is banned, any accident is on you.

Now recess of Parliament is in place, I do wonder what the MSM will be highlighting that's a bit over the top.

I think Reform are in for a drubbing.

So they do have a team that’s doing this job already - he just doesn’t like the proposals and wants an assistant to do the same work as well.

Probably his best mate's dad. Or maybe he wants his own toxic barbie to face the local press.
