Re: I sent a cross message onto the family group instead of directly to my husband . Deleted now, but l feel so ashamed and mortified … reached out to a couple of members to apologise but no response.. it may or may not blow over but please tell me your experience of sending messages to the wrong group so l don’t feel so alone in my stupidity …

First rule of WhatsApp is never, ever, ever text about someone because it is guaranteed you will send the message to them.

IAmNeverThePerson · 26/06/2025 17:07

I constantly put the wrong message in the wrong chat and therefore don’t type anything I wouldn’t be prepared to say to everyone I know. Safest.

So true .... we need it back!

Why was it removed?

Someone I know posted a video with a dildo shoved up her fanny. Was meant for someone she was messaging on Snapchat. Ended up on her story and she fell asleep.

she woke up and removed it at 11am the next day..

😲 Good grief.

Sorry to derail, but I'm still in the dark as to why it was removed. Does anyone know please?!

Twiglets1 · 26/06/2025 17:16

lizzielizard · 26/06/2025 17:07

Why was it removed?

People were misusing it apparently.

Responding to serious posts with a laughing emoji when someone was talking about stuff very upsetting to them.

Some people are just arseholes.

Was thinking the same thing.

How about we hear your story @MrsLighthouse?

I’ve posted my story on here ..

I messaged " get a load of these cxxts" to my best mum friend because there was a ridiculous debate happening on the year group WhatsApp. Only I put it in the actual group by accident. Now I have to style it out for the next five years of primary school. Or move.

MrsLighthouse · 26/06/2025 17:21

Anotherdayanotherdollar · 26/06/2025 15:05

Did you "delete for all", or "delete for me"?
And did they definitely see it?

I deleted for all ..but only when someone messaged me to say “ was this meant for everyone “ 😭

Well at least you could have conceivably have been talking on the wrong group ( there are lots of cxxts about ) …my message could only have been about people on the groups .

My husband did the good old knocked his camera on while naked on a teams call 😆😆
He was lying in bed on his side, in a panic he couldn't work out how to turn it off and threw his laptop across to room. He didn't live it down for months.

🤣

My brother accidentally sexted the family group chat instead of his (now wife, then colleague) and the first person to realise was me as I was reading it out loud for my mother who didn't have her glasses on

He's just about lived it down 10 years on 😉

Haaaa…🤣

Were you being ‘cross’ about your family?

Yes ..isn’t everyone sometimes ?? I just don’t usually let them know !

I think the content of the message is relevant.

We had a family group chat to arrange a birthday surprise for my sister. My niece accidentally posted into it how she doesn't like any of us anyway, Awkward!

I have just experienced that awkwardness …

DH is in a group chat for a kids sport and one of the mums accidentally sent a photo of her in a very compromising position. She then deleted it only for herself so every had to see it but no one could remove it!

This would kill me ( also l’m fat ! ) l would have to move 🤣

Ok so l wasn’t avoiding saying my balls up as it’s quite boring but it was a group chat where some members of the family were complaining that an elderly unwell relative wasn’t answering the phone to them and my message ( l thought to my husband ) was “ why are they expecting her to pick up the phone to them . …she’s not out on shenanigans, she’s in a hospital bed probably sleeping .. maybe visit her ? ” I sort of stick by what l said but l need to learn that not everyone needs to hear my opinion … even though they did !

Thats not bad at all.
My fxxk up is too long to explain but I nearly died with the fright.
I had sent a sharp (justified) criticism of another parent of a child in a competition that I was managing.

I had a drink, clarified my annoyance and styled it out...sort of....but the fright😱.
Never bitch on WhatsApp and cook/drink wine at the samd time!

I have seen it happen too often.
It's not called "WineApp" for nothing🤣.

Bimblebombles · 26/06/2025 17:38

Not as bad as some of these, but sent a detailed shopping list to my boss's teenage son once, specifying "the good cheese, not that shit one you always buy".

Namechangean · 26/06/2025 17:38

When I was 16 I smoked weed with some friends thinking I was cool.

I text my mum instead of my friend who asked what I was up that I was ‘blazing’ (The message alone fo anyone is now enough to make me cringe lol)

My mum went ballistic but I managed to convince her that blazing was a slang word for rapping and that I’d been singing and rapping with friends lol
