What’s the earliest you’d play drums on a Sunday?

I’m awake and my drumming fingers are twitching 😁

What time on a Sunday would your neighbour playing the drums not bother you??

Im thinking maybe…11am? Surely everyone is up by then?

I was going to say 10

Drangea · 22/06/2025 09:30

Personally 9 but I have an electric kit

Werp · 22/06/2025 09:31

I think 11 is kind. Allows for any teenagers and hangovers to have at least begun to rise/lift.

greencartbluecart · 22/06/2025 09:31

10 on a Sunday and invest in an electronic kit maybes?

Middletoleft · 22/06/2025 09:32

Noon at best.

Drum practice on a Sunday, what every neighbour wants.

Twiglets1 · 22/06/2025 09:32

10am.

Mirrormirrorincisor · 22/06/2025 09:33

Never. Thank you.

HedwigIsMySpiritAnimal · 22/06/2025 09:33

Keep your windows closed 😍

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/06/2025 09:33

In the middle of a field, far far away, then you can play anytime.

AmyDuPlantier · 22/06/2025 09:34

Ooh this is interesting, you lot are lovely and forgiving neighbours. I really don’t want an electric kit tbh, I looove my kit and it’s in an outdoor studio which is my happy place 😊

10 am

But I’d also be doing it in an internal room as far away from neighbours as possible. Or have an electric kit.

What’s funny is that one of my neighbours also plays so it’s often a bit like duelling drummers 😬😬

11am xx

AppleKatie · 22/06/2025 09:37

I wouldn’t love it ever either but I wouldn’t complain after 9, and I wouldn’t quietly seethe after 11 if that helps? 🤣

IAmTheLogLady · 22/06/2025 09:38

I'd say 10 is fine too. 🙂

Ddakji · 22/06/2025 09:39

11 or 12. But I wouldn’t like it! I want to enjoy my garden too!

Moonmelodies · 22/06/2025 09:39

Maybe an hour or so after bagpipe practice, so about 10:30.

Yeah I get that, and I only play for an hour-ish maybe twice a week.

Also it’s about to start pouring here so don’t think anyone will be enjoying their garden much today sadly.

Haha to be fair it was the church bells that woke me up (at 8.12am, someone has set the time wrong on them 🤣)

It depends how far you are from neighbours and what sound insulation you have. Drums are quite antisocial on their own. I love music but appreciate that my neighbours might not and if you live on an average street sound really carries. My neighbour plays trumpet but is really considerate and a good player. He only ever practices for about an hour which makes a difference.

Digdongdoo · 22/06/2025 09:43

11 on a Sunday. 10 on a Saturday. Drumming is particularly loud and obnoxious, especially in an outdoor studio. You'll be disturbing everyone in the area, at least inside it would only be immediate neighbours.

SharpWriter · 22/06/2025 09:44

I play bass so I'd join in with you! Probably 10/11 is OK (my neighbour's kids started screaming at 9am but that's perfectly acceptable!)

PurpleThistle7 · 22/06/2025 09:44

Id say never as well 🤣
but I think 11 is fair. And invest in soundproofing!

Please don’t ever move next to me.

DD is a drummer. We say after 10 during the week and 10:30 at the weekend.

We have told our neighbours that they must message if it’s annoying them at any time (they’re very lovely and we have a friendly neighbour whatsapp group) but they always say they can never hear her… she never plays for more than 45 mins though.
