Telling that it's Streeting doing the press rounds talking about how Reeves and Starmer are here to stay. I see they are keeping shit-stirrer in chief, Rayner away from the press.

She’ll be patched up and thrown back in I reckon. Hard to smirk as much after that which would be a change.

Reeves that is.

Arrearing50 · 03/07/2025 08:36

I’m sure Rayner is right behind them!

Some of the media are reporting that it was Rayner who had a bust up with Reeves before PMQs. Judging by Rayner's expression in the chamber, I'm sure she's very pleased with today's brutal front pages.

It wasn't the tories who made her cry.

Poor old Wes. Shoved out in front of the cameras at the crack of dawn to clean up another crime scene. It's a good job he's a man of faith.

Agree I saw Rayner’s face yesterday - and if it really was a personal matter, why did none of the people around her comfort her? Are they all robots?

it really looks like a political Barney and a crap cover up to me.

Probably.
Reeves is a dud, her replacement will be a dud. The fish rots from the head down. If Reeves is stupid enough to continue with the Starmer loyalty, more fool her.

Exactly. Nothing to do with the tories. This is a Labour shitshow.

Just saw on another thread about senior MPs gunning for Starmer and Reeves (Sky News apparently).

The Labour rebels / left getting a taste of blood and finishing them off really would show in market reaction. We’d likely blow out.

Yep. And Starmer couldn't even bring himself to throw her a lifeline when asked if she would stay in her position. He's a turd.

The labour loyalists can blame Kemi B all they want. Reeves's enemies were sat beside, and behind her.

So true. It’s incredible how they’ll punch at anyone not Labour.

Yep. Two senior Labour people have briefed (seperately) that Starmer is a gonner if the May elections are bad.

Sir Keir Starmer could be ousted as PM within months, two senior Labour MPs tell Sky News

A member of the government and a prominent MP said Sir Keir Starmer could be ousted unless Labour has a strong showing in May's elections.

Psychologist just spoke on R4 too. She said tears are simply a normal expression of emotion and for most people they trigger empathy more than anything else. She questioned why it shouldn't be okay to cry in public life. Just a different channel of emotion from getting aggressive and bashing tables (normalised in PMQs) but if someone cries, particularly a women, it is seen to be a sign of weakness and ridiculed. Quite sad really and quite evident on this thread.

EasternStandard · 03/07/2025 09:16

Oh go on. Plenty of the posts talked about her distress. I can’t even with this stuff.

Ridiculous.

EasternStandard · 03/07/2025 09:18

Why do posters claim they ‘don’t support Labour’ even post so staunchly in favour. If only the pro Labour thread was enough.

Badenoch was quite ruthless capitalising on Reeves' obvious distress. I guess the chamber is a bear pit at PMQs though and many would have done the same.

Of course you can't.

Upstartled · 03/07/2025 09:21

Oh, God please. I can't be doing with this. Yes, it's sad that she's crying but let's not pretend that crying on the front bench during pmqs isn't completely inappropriate for the environment. I don't want to be represented by a government that looks, in the proper sense of the word, pathetic.

It’s utterly ridiculous. Why so staunchly defending Labour in every post

There’s threads for that.

On the upside, the disapproving bellyaching does give us plenty of opportunity to revisit and flesh out the full breadth of our distain for this government. So it's a thank you from me @CinnamonSquirrels

Nuance seems to evade you. You can not support someone and have some humanity. Who knew!

yes Kemi’s job is to stick the boot in PMQ is a 19th c Punch and Judy show. But her colleagues were not comforting Reeves and that was a really bad look. You expect that from the opposition…
