Seems warm enough here in the South East.
Or will it get darker on?

I’ve taken mine in. I don’t trust the dark on my washing! Lol

UtterlyQuackers · 31/05/2025 20:02

I've just told my husband about spiders rubbing their willies on washing in the dark.

YABVU!!

(I left mine out last night.)

FamingolosForDays · 31/05/2025 20:05

I left mine outside last night. I still remember the spider willies 😆😆😆

AutumnLover1989 · 31/05/2025 20:06

But it'll get darked on!!!

AndyouWILLATONE · 31/05/2025 20:07

Just got back from work and went straight into the garden to hang my washing out. Spider willies don't bother me one bit.

Octavia64 · 31/05/2025 20:08

Me.

i’m disabled and it rarely rains near me. It often gets left for several days until I have the energy to bring it in,

ScottBakula · 31/05/2025 20:09

I have just put a load out, it's warm and windy here so it will dry quickly but I doubt I'll be arsed to bring it in before I go to bed.

I don't care if it gets darked on , I'm a rebel ! 😂

PlasticAcrobat · 31/05/2025 20:09

I've just done a dark wash, to make use of night-time line drying.

Zippedydodah · 31/05/2025 20:10

I often leave washing out overnight when the forecast is favourable. I’ve managed to survive it being darked on and spiders don’t worry me!
At 71 it’s a bit late to worry about spiders’ willies!,

House0fBamboo · 31/05/2025 20:11

Mine's getting darked on tonight. No worries about the spider willies 😂

RedRobyn24 · 31/05/2025 20:12

I’ve never left my washing out before, I didn’t know this was a thing, do you think they’ll still dry? 🤔

Meredusoleil · 31/05/2025 20:13

What does that even mean? Getting darked on?!?

TheBig50 · 31/05/2025 20:13

My sofa throws are on the line. I'm being exceptionally lazy and can't be bothered getting them in.

Do your worst dark!!

ExtensiveDebating · 31/05/2025 20:13

Yes, do it all the time.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2025 20:14

My mums old neighbour left her washing out once and someone stole her sheets off the line! I did think that was mean.

BabyDoge · 31/05/2025 20:15

I didn't realise how much DS5 listens to us until he told his teacher that spiders wipe their willies on your washing 🙈

Lindajonesjustcantlivemylife · 31/05/2025 20:15

I wouldn't as there's a good chance it wouldn't be there in the morning.
Ours is a communal drying area that's also used as a shortcut.

Tomikka · 31/05/2025 20:16

I put the washing in the machine on a delay timer earlier - setting it first thing in the morning but delayed to start shortly after I was going out at 12 *
I got back about half an hour ago just after 730 and need to pop out again, but found it still going with 8 minutes to go …. And it has just ended but with the door still locked !!!!

The decision has therefore been made by the machine and its not going out tonight

*I suspect that there may have been some operator error setting the delay timer

Edited

It's just a daft saying that someone once said on here a hundred years ago and it's just stuck around.

Crudd99 · 31/05/2025 20:20

Id be more more worried about moths eating the washing than spiders willies.

Fuzzypinetree · 31/05/2025 20:20

Mine is outside and will stay there. We've just had a massive downpour and strong winds but it seems to have stopped now. It's underneath the balcony so even if it starts raining again, it'll be fine.
I've also left it outside to get rained on before. I mean, it was wet anyway so might as well get a bit wetter before it dries...
Not fussed about spider willies. I'm trying not to think about the potential spider willies that have been wiped across my face while we were sleeping. Lots of spiders in the house...

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2025 20:21

I do believe that washing comes in a bit more grubby if it’s left outside overnight. I admit I lve only done it once or twice , but it definitely felt differently somehow , all those spiders !
I do like getting dry washing in though , it’s just satisfying after months of drying it indoors etc.

Greenartywitch · 31/05/2025 20:30

I could not do that because of the resident foxes :)

I left some cushions out overnight once on a garden chair and the following morning they had been chewed up by the foxes so I dread to think what they would do to my clothes.

How is night time air dirtier than day time air?

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2025 20:36

Not sure why night time air is different , but it just is !
