I have this week off work as I work in a school. My plan today is to give the house a good clean, list some things on Vinted I’ve been meaning to get round to and try and keep DD entertained.
DP is working today, the weathers a bit rubbish so might have a movie afternoon with DD.
What about all of you?

weather forecast not looking good
did want to buy some bedding plants so may do that, despite the rain forecast.
bedroom needs a tidy
always take dog out for a walk
might find a film

ShiftySquirrel · 26/05/2025 09:04

I'm off this week too.
I've got coursework to complete, two separate days of hospital visits for a close relative 2.5hrs away for meetings, a hen afternoon tea, teen DC are having friends over on two separate days - one under the guise of revising for remaining exams, dentist and hairdressers. Plus a new rug arriving and we need to choose, but not yet paint the dining room as mega decluttering needs to happen.

This time I'll go back to school for a rest!

Seawolves · 26/05/2025 09:05

In hospital, in a very busy bay on paeds. Hoping they might kick us out today.

AliasGrape · 26/05/2025 09:14

Still in PJs on sofa with DD, but about to get us both ready. Spent yesterday doing lots of sorting in the garage (still a long way to go it was horrendous!) and DH has just gone to take the baby/ nursery furniture and pram that was in there to a family member who is pregnant (she does want them not just dumping!)

DD and I are going to do some baking - got some manky bananas that we might make muffins with. Will cover snacks/ treats this week - she’s in holiday club for 3 days so maybe will take them in her packed lunch.

Whit holidays are 2 weeks here and we’re going away the second week - will try to get ahead of myself with washing/ sorting clothes for that.

Late afternoon we’re all going to a friend’s house for food and the kids can have a play.

TokyoSushi · 26/05/2025 09:16

It’s Liverpool FC parade day! 🥳

MummyInTheNecropolis · 26/05/2025 09:24

I’m meeting a friend for brunch at 11am, looking forward to a good catch up and a laugh. Then going to my sister’s this evening to spend some time with my little niece and nephew.

ssd · 26/05/2025 09:27

Im going to primark later to look for work shirts. Will have a mooch round the other shops, although there aren't many left...

dontforgetme · 26/05/2025 09:36

My Asda shop is arriving shortly then I will clean the hamster out, hopefully with the kids’ help! And then we will get ready to see family. It was both my children’s birthdays recently and we are off out for a meal and presents with my mom.

its forecast rain today and I’m welcoming it, it’s so bloody humid and sticky where I am this morning.

Also it’s Monday so that means tonight will be The Last of Us. Dp and I are absolutely loving it.

McCartneyOnTheHeath · 26/05/2025 09:45

I'll be stripping wallpaper and cursing myself for not buying a house that someone else had already done up!

JMAngel1 · 26/05/2025 09:51

Plan is to attack the office as it has accumulated so much crap/ has become the house dumping ground.
At lunchtime go to get car valeted and take DDs to the McDonalds next door whilst it’s being worked on.
Visit my Dad who I haven’t seen all week as had to work 7 days in a row - first day off today and I’m shattered but will get up at 10am and get cracking (just started reading a new thriller in bed this morning so this will be hard 😂)
Will probably bung a chicken in the oven for later and have with a lovely glass of red whilst watching Sirens.

Have a good BH everyone

Whataninterestinglookingpotato · 26/05/2025 09:51

We’ve had a pretty relaxed bank holiday weekend so far. Dd1 home from uni so went shopping with her to the local outlet village Saturday. Went for a long run and then a dog walk yesterday.

today I’m going to go to the gym and then maybe take the dog down to the coast if the weather holds. If not I’ll probably just spend the afternoon reading or watching a movie. Dd2 is working today and DH is out so just dd1 and I at home.

Aww. It will all be worth it but I remember those days well - just keep picturing it all finished and gorgeous.

Bobbieiris · 26/05/2025 10:01

A good old spring clean! I started yesterday with organising kids clothes, sorting spare room etc and really in the mood to get cleaning! Just ordered over door organisers and scented drawer liners and can’t wait for them to arrive! I’m exciting, I know…

Whattheduck · 26/05/2025 10:04

Just waiting for Dd to come back from her boyfriend’s then we are taking the dog for a walk at a local park and stopping at a cafe for coffee and cake
Dh is still in bed as he was working away came home in the early hours
Going to see my mum and brother this afternoon
Homemade burgers with sweet potato fries, onion rings, salad and coleslaw for tea then probably watch tv / read

Imperfectpolly · 26/05/2025 10:06

I'm in Ireland so no BH here until next week, but just wanted to say I hope you all have a lovely peaceful day.

Nourishinghandcream · 26/05/2025 10:14

Still sat in the garden having enjoyed a lovely alfresco breakfast.
Will be washing down the patio later and then making up the spare rooms for family who are coming to stay for a few days.

Crunchymum · 26/05/2025 10:20

We have a family gathering / party later.

Have had a few birthdays and other celebrations over the past month so decided to have a get together to celebrate en masse.

We're all taking various food items (I'm in charge of potato salad, cous cous and chicken wings) and there'll be cake and champagne 🍾 ... although I don't drink!

Sadly weather doesn't look amazing but we can move it all inside.

Very excited as despite us all being in the same area there are so many of us we rarely get all together these days. There'll be at least 25 of us.

Hoping kids eat enough I don't have to worry about dinner. We'll stick a film on later and then an early night as we have plans tomorrow so need to be up early.

lucysmam · 26/05/2025 10:28

Me and dd2 are just finishing getting ready to go for our train to Manchester for a gig tonight. We're meeting dd1 who was up at the buttcrack of dawn for her train to meet another friend. & we're staying over.

Tomorrow we'll wander Manchester. Weds I need pre-cancer-treatment bloods so we'll also go for lunch over the road from the hospital.

Rest of the week will be fairly quiet. Crafting & normal house stuff for me, meds on Friday. Revision for dd1, homework for dd2, work for their dad.

Zippedydodah · 26/05/2025 10:34

Just back from a 4 mile dog walk, absolutely drenched as it poured with rain from halfway round- luckily it’s warm out! Now the sun’s shining and the sky is blue 🙄🤷🏼‍♀️
Never mind, ZDog1 was off lead for much of it, thoroughly enjoyed haring around through the long grass.
My plans for the rest of the day? Not a lot! Spag Bol in slow cooker so that’s dinner sorted!

Chipsahoy · 26/05/2025 10:39

Kiddos in school, although have oldest on exam leave and his exams are done so he will probably game all day…
Dhs company is English so he off today. So far we’ve been to screw fix. Rock and roll!

Sunnyside4 · 26/05/2025 10:42

I've worked all weekend, so emptying the kitchen as we're having it ripped out tomorrow. Also, two lots of washing as we won't have a washing machine for a couple of weeks.

However, we plan to go for a walk around a local nearby park that has two lakes for an hour or so later.

SpacedOutOut · 26/05/2025 10:43

Working. 😭 I Did have a bit of a lie in though as I’m not in till after lunchtime and we had a few drinks out last night.

AdoraBell · 26/05/2025 10:47

Sitting with fecking muscle spasms from my neck almost all the way down my back. Luckily my DC are adults and not home so I don’t need to do anything.

Hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday.

LeaveALittleNote · 26/05/2025 10:48

Tidying up the house, catching up on a bit of work, going through my to-do list. Boring!

hopeishere · 26/05/2025 10:50

Pottering. Checking my finances. Sorting some areas where crap has built up! Washing. Walk the dog. Read my book. DS1 is supposedly revising and DS2 is watching tv in his pants.
