New house! Gorgeous
but I’m still sad I didn’t get the London house. This one I’m not so sure about not that I’ve much chance of winning!

It's ok. I mean obviously nobody would turn down a free house and loads of money! But it doesn't create the daydream like some of the others. The Cotswolds house and the Yorkshire house were the most daydreamy - the London one close behind.

There's something about those old stone houses with mature gardens that feels absolutely captivating.

MathsMagpie · 15/05/2025 08:48

For that much money I’d want some extra privacy. Not to say it’s not beautiful and I wouldn’t be over the moon to win it but compared to previous Omaze houses, it’s not the one!

LaurieFairyCake · 15/05/2025 08:48

I wonder if it’s in Bognor Regis? It looks like it

shouldhavedonethisearlier · 15/05/2025 08:49

It's in the Kingston Gorse area I think (further east along the coast).

sakuraspring · 15/05/2025 08:56

I agree, I love the old houses more. I wouldn't turn it down though Grin

OllysArmyRidesAgain · 15/05/2025 09:01

I'd be quite happy to retire to the seaside, although this house feels very exposed and open to the elements. At least this one has plenty of bedrooms unlike the Norfolk one

NewAgeNewMe · 15/05/2025 09:05

I’m still hankering after the London one. I’d have taken the Cotswold and Norfolk one. Yorkshire would have been a hassle driving wise from me. I can see Sussex being a hassle as well.

It’s at East Preston Beach.

This is close enough to London to be useable for weekends… It’s not the most ‘wow’ house but it is practical for me in that sense at least. But I can’t see it being worth £4m…

Ziferblat · 15/05/2025 10:05

Would you care to share your super sleuth skills with us @DarenP ? How did you work out exactly where it was?

CautiousLurker01 · 15/05/2025 10:11

Just seen the details. Really not for me - would not be able to keep my dogs secure and wow, the total lack of privacy.

Am guessing it’s not a private beach so there will be days/weekends/maybe even weeks when it could be a total zoo on the other side of that garden wall. Teens getting drunk and rowdy in the summer evenings. And anyone could climb over that wall and smash the windows in.

(I grew up in Hastings/St Leonards and remember the summer crowds well.)

I am actually disappointed in this one after the London and Cotswold ones, so won’t be picking up any extra tickets. My £10 subscription will be going to charity though.

BarnacleBeasley · 15/05/2025 10:17

I wouldn't mind winning this one - it's a long way away from me but pretty easy to get to if I ignore my environmental qualms and fly to Gatwick, and I can imagine it would also be easy to monetise as a holiday let when I wasn't there. But it is annoying that most of the value comes from the locations - near where I live (Scotland) you can pretty much get a whole castle for £2m so they'll never have an Omaze house here because they want to put a £multi-million headline price on it. And when they do have houses in Scotland they're on ridiculous private estates for billionaire golfers because that's the only place they can find a 'value' high enough.

squashyhat · 15/05/2025 10:25

"Sun-soaked Sussex shoreline" 😆Top marks for alliteration, not so much for accuracy.

FortyElephants · 15/05/2025 10:29

I live in this area - this would suit me as we could actually move in and live there. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 😆

ThePoshUns · 15/05/2025 10:49

Gosh that is bloody gorgeous

The text said it was walking distance from the station. The station is about 30 minutes walk away from the beach, so I started looking at properties directly South of the station, then I moved along the map, following the beach towards the East (as it’s also described as being close to Brighton).

The floor plan of the house is pretty unique and the photos show it to be at an angle to the sea wall. With these clues, it didn’t take long to track it down.

I enjoy the challenge of finding each one of these houses when announced. The London one was way too easy though.

DilemmaDelilah · 15/05/2025 11:24

I've always wanted a house on the beach, so this would suit me

Ziferblat · 15/05/2025 11:52

Wonderful, thanks @DarenP! Any idea how to check if a property has previously been listed but not sold? I have my eye on an old wreck (not Omaze alas) but it looks familiar yet no sign of it on Rightmove or Zoopla and PropertyLog no longer seems to work…

pinkingshears · 15/05/2025 11:55

I actually needed that London house 😔
I also have a subscription but I don't check it and I am suspicious that they only choose winners easy to 'surprise' on film (I'm sure I remember someone saying they 'screen' winners somehow?

MissyPants · 15/05/2025 11:59

I pay a £10 subscription every month.
I don't even bother looking at the houses, as I'm probably wasting my money. If I did win tho then we would just sell it anyway, and buy the house of our dreams in the location we want.

User5274959 · 15/05/2025 12:02

I think the maintenance and upkeep would be more manageable than with some of the others

MorrisZapp · 15/05/2025 12:06

I bloody love it! I'd enjoy it for a year then sell up and buy an entire portfolio in Scotland.

DiscoHippo · 15/05/2025 12:46

It reminds me a bit of the first Norfolk one, Bliss Blakeney - which I’m still not over not winning - but the location and general busyness of the area doesn’t work for me, nor does a pebbly beach. But it’s a stonking charity, and they’ll get a few extra entries from me for that alone.
